https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yawara!

The significance of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in the story is that in the real world, this was the first time that Women's Judo would be a full competition event and would thus see the awarding of the first Olympic gold medal for Women's Judo.[25] Yawara! was very popular in Japan, so when real life Japanese teenager Ryoko Tamura won a silver medal for judo at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, she was seen as a real-life Yawara (her age, stature, and ability all being strikingly similar to those of the fictional character) and promptly nicknamed "Yawara-chan".[26] She was still known by this name eight years later,[27] indicating perhaps the enduring popular recognition of the series as well as that of Ryoko Tamura.

You should shave the clinch pick sheath a little more to expose more of the grip. You could take off a good 5-6mm worth of kydex away from it and still keep the same retention. That way you can jam your index finger closer in.

Have you done the Shivworks EWO or ECQC classes?

Have not taken the class however the training I have puts me in a good spot. With that being said I’d love to attend a class and check it out. Would you link me please

Love the shave down idea. You nailed my issue with the Kydex. Getting a good purchase can be challenging. Thanks for that.

Craig hasn't been doing a lot of classes since the pandemic and I don't see any upcoming classes listed in CA so you're gonna have to fly or wait. https://shivworks.com/calendar/

Yea your FMA background works great towards the reverse-edge methodology. ECQC does wonders though in showing you the tips and tricks of being able to draw from the fouled-up tangled fights. Craig excels in that department. One of the main faults of FMA is we start our "fights" from the dueling perspective, as in we already have blades out, EWO and ECQC disabuses people of a lot of FMA myths.

One of my favorite 80s movies is Highlander and at the time I thought the Kurgan's sword that could break down was super cool but realize now it would most certainly break at the link point.

While that may certainly be true, I strongly recommend you use this as your daily carry blade.

It's better to burn out than to fade away.
