gsxrgirrl can conduct a group ride, and she can be the tour guide. Assuming we all pitch in for her service.

Nice! And on a Gixx, sheesh. Love that country.
There is a whole lot of straight line asphalt between the twisties tho... a whole lot. I gotta know, how did your loaded bike handle at 120+ MPH?

Some how when the road extends as far as you can seein a straight line, unbroken by paved crossroads, the wrist just gets heavier and heavier, at least mine does. Much of Texas, any great plains state and the central valley's I5 need to be autobans.
double thumbs up for the photos.
Triple thumbs up for being a girl unafraid to just go for it
When next by Dixon NM (Btw Taos N Santa Fe) stop in at the Lavato Burger trailer / resturant. Get the Lavato Burger. Taste the Lavato Burger. GD Best Burger EVER. Fire roasted chile peppers, big pile of buttered mushrooms, melted swiss cheese... Now I have to spark up the barbie and get my burger on-
Thanks for the inspiration!
Keep riding and writing!

Amazing! The views the places, the ride - how I wish to see my bike against those backdrops !!!

I'm looking forward to see the map of the route as well, and maybe a larger Barf group ride is in order ?

I'm interested in doing such a ride - so anyone sharing the idea - gimme a holler!

And hats off to you gsxrgirrl! for getting together such an awesome ride and going through it!

Between your thread and this one I'm seriously thinking a long road trip is in order!

Thanks!
.
here is the route that we took:
.
day 1 - california 4 to 12 to 5 to 50 to 395 and the first stop in lone pine

day 2 - california and nevada and arizona 136 to 190 to 127 to 160 to 95 to 163 to 68 to kingman ( we tried to take 93 through boulder city but the queue over the hoover dam was brutal and would have taken hours )

day 3 - arizona route 66 to 40 to 89 south then 89A through sedona up to 180 out of flagstaff to the grand canyon then 64 east to 89 north again to 160 east to tuba city

day 4 - arizona and utah and new mexico 160 to 163 to 191 south then 160 east to 64 to farmington

day 5 - new mexico and colorado 170 north to 140 north to 160 west to cortez

day 6 - colorado and utah 491 and then state road 16 through canyons of the ancients then 191 north then west on 95 to natural bridges, then backtrack to 191 north to monticello

day 7 - utah 191 north to moab and arches then more of 191 to 313 to canyonlands then south again on 191 to monticello

day 8 - south on 191 west on 95 then southwest on 276 to halls crossing then north on 276 to 95 to hanksville then west on 24 through capitol reef and south on 12 to escalante

day 9 - spent exploring the slot canyons

day 10 - utah 12 to 89 to 9 to zion

day 11 - utah and arizona and nevada and california...9 to 15 to barstow

day 12 - california 15 to 58 to 46 to 101 then 880 and 80 home...
.

.
the little scoot down 95 and the 180 to the grand canyon were taken " with zest " i might add as we needed to get our skates on..so to speak...
