AB 51 would authorize a motorcycle to be driven between rows of stopped or moving vehicles in the same lane if the speed of traffic is 35 miles per hour or less and the motorcycle is driven no more than 10 miles per hour faster than the speed of traffic. The bill would provide that these provisions do not authorize a motorcycle to be driven in contravention of other laws relating to the safe operation of a vehicle. I will keep your comments in mind when this bill comes before me in the Senate."

Word from Assemblyman Quirks office is the bill will be amended. Up.

He has met with the CHP and a round table discussion on the change with us will take place next week. This will include the very active stake holders at this point.

What this means to be clear is.

15 MPH Max speed differential
50 MPH Max speed, but the original amendment we saw had a speed limit for traffic at 35 MPH. That is now gone. This looks much better.

We... as in the AMA/ Coalition of Clubs / ABATE / MIC and more are standing that we do not agree with the adjustment... however the adjustment that was seen is not the one issued.

I am trying to get a hold of folks now.

I have a couple of objectives here.
1. Get the practice codified.
2. Get the speed limits to be reasonable for safety reasons.
3. Help other States move forward based on California being the coolest state in the Union.

This is really close.. Thanks for popping that up. I had not seen it.
