Plenty of action in Race 1 though the Northern Ireland flag throw might have been the highlight. Cream rose to the top as usual in a rain race.

Ben Spies was in the Misano paddock yesterday and will be at Laguna visiting folks as well which, of course, leads to some wild Spiesculation about him returning to racing.

Funny how he doesn't mention his price tag and how that affected his ability to return to MA.

I hope something does pan out for him in WorldSBK. Would be great to see him back on the grid.

For awhile, I thought I was going to be a complete genius with Sykes and Davies on the podium. I swear I didn't know about the weather. Just like the stock BMW, that bike looked so planted in the wet.

Spies is talkin' bicycles. He should have immediately sanctioned a ride when Tony came over. He should be able to kick Elias butt 6 out of 7 days a week. No offense little people.

I sure hope he is wrong about the factories disappearing again. Perhaps you could help Wayne, Ben, by getting in the series and talking it up. I would help MA, if I was faster than a VW beetle with a flat tire. What's your excuse?

I refuse to get excited about a Spies return until the contracts are signed. Last time he announced his return, he failed to mention that it was to race enduro (womp womp). Spies is going to announce his return to racing then reveal that he's racing frogs in calaveras county

Spies isn't coming back to MA or WSBK. The euro press loves to run wild with speculation.

Spies on Twitter today:

I have zero intentions to race for titles anymore but a endurance race here and there are totally possible. Let’s see what happens

He's playing coy. With his injury history, every race is an endurance. It will be a MotoGP return at Assen in honor of his only win!

Bautista is still a great rider on the best bike so I still wouldn't be surprised if he snaps right back to his dominating, mistake-free forum from earlier in the season. Don't know the last time Bautista raced at Donington so that will be an important weekend for him. If it, rains, all bets are off.

The Misano weekend really delivered: big change in WSBK points; some fresh faces on the WSBK podium, an elbows-out brawl in Supersport; and Currasco's big SSP300 win. Could have done without van der Mark's crash and injuries. This weekend and the next two races would be a lot better with MvdM60 on the grid. Hard to pick a highlight. I was impressed with Cortese's tenacity to hold the clutch lever in during long slide into the gravel but Rea never letting go of the bike while it rolled over him and then popping right back up and recovering to finish fifth was a mean feat. Razgatlioglu's race 2 was real break out ride.

Except, we are back to Rea, Rea, REA. Instead of BAUTISTA, Bautista, Bautista

Maybe. If he wasn't on the faux MotoGP bike, he might already have been beaten.

I'd settle for some Colin humor. I wish he didn't have so much money. It would be great to have him do color commentary somewhere. How about he gets Simon's job in the MotoGP pits. Oh, that would be two-step sweet.

All this good racing and y’all be speculating on Spies?
Admittedly I had very basic cable until he went to WSBK and I ponied up to watch him dominate.
