Riding freed me from crippling commute traffic, and freed my bank account of my money

I do love how it forces me to forget everything else and concentrate on the ride. However, I try to be mindful about how i'm just deferring problems when i'm on the bike and those problems will still be there when i'm done. Gotta deal with them eventually!

Very true.

That does provide a little pride in ways.

While BARF seems to find the differences in motorcyclists (via the Kitchen Sink) the common motorcycle wave to a fellow rider shows that we are still a family. Just think if the entire country did that?

When my wife and I were in Burmuda, we rented a scooter and everybody kept honking. Like all the time, and our American lenses were like “these assholes...” Come to find out that everybody honks at each other as a way to say hello. The island is so small, and everybody says hi to each other, many times via a honk of the horn.

I didn't really feel that way but a lot of my friends did.

Meanwhile, Jeep is running a media campaign trying to encourage Jeep owners to wave at each other.

Sorry, just...unclear of the concept.

Back in late 80's, my CJ5 got me into that wave stuff. Didn't know it carried to the "car" side of Jeep.
But , yea, waving @ the "jeep", jeeps was a thing back then, much to my surprise, just like bikes.

It still is! I'm constantly waving and being waved at when behind the wheel of my Jeep. I wave to everyone that drives by our place up in the mountains, and everyone we come across on the road up there. It's just what people do, and I like it.

Really? Y'all wave at the Compasses and Libertys and such?

Nobody has ever waved at my JGC, but I'm not romping about around Arrowhead and Big Bear either.

It’s still a Jeep Thing. At least for the “real” Jeep’s.
