Newbie to Bay Area + dirtbikes

Hey everyone! Newbie to BARF and the Bay Area, it's awesome to see this community here.

I grew up in the South Bay, but have been living in Chicago until I moved back here for the year to ride out the pandemic, literally. I've been riding for 5 years, but all on straight, flat Midwest terrain, so I'm getting used to riding around here which is definitely more challenging. My current ride on the street is a 2010 Triumph Daytona 675, after having ridden a 2005 CBR600RR and Ninja 250 for a while.

I've also been getting into dirtbikes, and recently got a 2 stroke KTM which I've taken to Metcalf a few times and Carnegie once. The greens/blues at Metcalf were alright, as well as the greens at Carnegie. I found a couple of the easy blues at Carnegie to be ok, until I took a wrong turn and got trapped on a steep hill for an hour. And a lot of other parts of Carnegie looked intimidating. Nevertheless I'm planning on going out to both parks a few more times to practice and get better before red sticker season ends soon.

Hopefully will meet some of you at some point

Good to have you here. Two stroke!!!! .

Bonus points man.

Holister is way more friendly than Carnegie. Easy to find challenges there with a wrong turn.

Hope you enjoy the site. Fit your rear to dirty Barf ASAP.
Many smiles with your miles.

Welcome! I live 20mins from Carnegie and avoid going there as much as possible. Not really my idea of fun, but it'll definitely challenge you as a rider.

Welcome to BARF and Dirty Barfing!

For sure check out Hollister, and once red sticker season starts you can head for the hills where you can ride all summer. Upper Lake, Stonyford, Foresthill, Georgetown, etc. And get you some training

Yes try Hollister. But it gets hot in summer. In winter, the sand side is epic.

Sounds good, I prefer weekdays too when it's less crowded. Shoot me a message when you're free.. Fair warning though, I'm a noob on dirt so I'm slooooooow.
