if you've driven down specific streets in Alameda, including Lincoln (one of the biggest streets on the island), you've broken the law. Plenty of other cities list some roads as 3 ton limits as well, although I doubt they're ever enforced against pickups.

there are very few bridges in CA with weight limits as low as 3 tons. that's the lowest I've seen, and only in a few places, unless you count the 0 ton bridge on Road 40 at 16 in Yolo County.

Gross weight is not the same thing as gross vehicle weight rating.

Gross weight is what it actually weights right this moment, the rating is what it should never weigh more than.

Again, there’s reasons why some vehicles are weighed a lot.

Mine too- 8842 with a fuel tank of go juice, no load, and just my MFA.

(So says the exit scale at the dump, no idea if that's accurate or not. In our county- I'd bet money; not)

the thing that makes me especially about trucks on Lincoln: there used to be railroad tracks down the street (it was called Railroad Ave). I'm not just talking streetcars, I'm talking locomotives.

But trucks are too noisy or something I guess.
