There's a thread for every race in the "couch racer's corner" section of the forum.

Yep, 7 rounds and we know who the champ will be, so in essence, boring.

It is racing at the highest level on two wheels.

Shit can happen.. at anytime. MM is not guaranteed jack at this point.
We assume we know who the champ will be... and I agree it is very likely, but for many of us there is so much more drama, excitement and entertainment to be had.

For me it is kind of like going to my favorite restaurant. I know what I want to eat and I know it will be great, but I will still enjoy it.

Curious if people would find it more exciting (or maybe more frustrating) if MotoGP adopted the British GP format where they have something like a postseason you see in other sports. I donít remember the details exactly, but something like top 6 riders from the main part of the season get their points reset and compete for the championship in the final handful of races. In that format, even a rider who jumps out to a big points lead is still catchable at the end.

I would not.. the GrandPrix Moto Racing history would be lost to some NASCAR style of points deal.

Marquez hit the ground 23 times last year and anytime you fall there is a chance you may get hurt and not be able to race. These dudes show amazing fortitude though. We saw some pretty wicked highsides, which could have left some marks and left riders unable to compete.

It's just a gimmick to increase the race season and pretend it is something it is not.

Motorsports have always had dominate racers and teams. It is how it is. That is why NASCAR continuously changes the rules to fake closer racing. WSBK has tried the same kind of carny side show: Reverse starting first two rows? Come-on. That is just cheesy, and didn't help change the results one bit.

And to budman's point, I believe that Lorenzo and Crutchlow have already complained that a twenty race season may be too much physically. They claim that sometimes they have not recovered from the previous race weekend. It ain't auto racing that is for sure.

More cents from me. You are welcome.

I think in some hot/humid tracks they literally loose like 10 lbs after finishing the race.

Injury seems like the most likely way for MM to lose this year, but it's always a very real possibility.

This is only the first year that I've closely followed MotoGP, but I've been enjoying getting into the drama of who makes Q1 vs Q2 and how qualifying sets you up for the race. Plus I watch Moto2 and Moto3 as well, so there's always fun to be had somewhere, even if on a particular weekend, the premiere class race is decided early on.

As long as Jorge Lorenzo stays away....

And bring back the 500cc 2 Stroke bikes!

Barring those 2, put Quarrataro on a factory bike and see who wins.
