Race plastics that rival sharkskinz quality?

Interested in some plastics for my 03 R6. I have heard sharkskinz make decent stuff. I am looking for something that isnt going to require a whole lot of tweaking to make fit, like some of the cheaper stuff out there. Can any of you suggest some plastics that may work well?

I've never used SharkSkinz, but I have experience with Attack bodywork.

The lowdown:

The Attack bodywork was a breeze to install. The instructions on the attack website were complete and informative. All the drill points were clearly marked, and the bodywork fit with no trouble.

Problem areas for me were fitting the tail section over the evap canister on my 04 GSXR (I decided to remove it) and figuring out the best way to drill the upper for my Graves faring bracket.

The attack bodywork comes with a clean white primer finish that is theoretically ready for painting. It looked good enough that I didn't bother. The finish was chipped in a few places, which leads me to question whether I would trust it under an expensive paint job.

The graves bracket installation was not especially complex, however care was necessary to completely understand how absolutely everything fits before drilling any holes.

I low-sided at about 80 on turn 2, Thunderhill. The bodywork survived much better than my stock engine covers. There was a minor tear on the lower fairing, and the tail section had large chips in the primer. I noticed no cracking around any of the fasteners, a trait I consider critical for fairing survivability. Repairs should be fairly trivial.

I've got pictures from my track day with the bodywork posted on Flickr:

I'd be interested in trying other brands, but I would not hesitate to recommend Attack parts.

A friend of mine runs with Airtech on her f3 race bike. The parts have all kinds of nasty scratches, but are in relatively good shape structurally. Based on that, I am lead to believe that the Air-tech stuff is pretty sturdy. It's not quite as flexible as the Attack bodywork, but is a little thicker. I can't comment on the fit, as her frame was quite tweaked when she got the bike.

i just bought my cobra skinz. they were 330 shipped. i havent installed them yet, but they dont seem too bad

Attack is great stuff :thumbup. I had them on my RC51 when they used to be AK composites.

I just bought a set of Armour Bodies. Great fit! I've always used Sharkskinz but decided to try Armour and am very happy.

The Amour Bodies stuff I've seen looks awesome! From what my friends tell me, it seems to crash well, too. I think Viets Performance is the west coast distributor. I think they have discounts, but I don't remember what the "magic words" are to get them. BARF? AFM? Keigwins? Last time I checked, I think they were a few hundred cheaper than Sharkskinz. Don't remember if that was before of after the discount, though.

FWIW, if you don't need an AFM- or AMA-legal belly pan, you might just look for crashed OEM plastics. I bought a complete set of scuffed OEM plastics for $200! Fit is superb and they protect just as well as the after-market stuff...

I was thinking about that, but I'd like to get rid of the lights and such as well. The bike will work in all our AM classes, but I'd like to make it as cheap as possible during a crash, know what I mean?

Hello Jorbar.
Would you let me know how are you doing with your COBRA SKINZ experience, I’ve been looking at their bodywork, but I wasn't well convinced how it works.
