My spur of the moment 2000+ mile bike retrieval

So this is random. Yesterday I decided to buy a bike...in Missouri. Now I'm flying out at 6am and I'm going to ride it back. Haven't really planned anything out, but I have an Aerostich, heated gear, and an iPhone....so what could go wrong?

I'll update this thread as things progress...

*After the fact edit* Summary of my trip is here.

You are awesome my friend.....I have been thinking about doing this for awhile. What kind of bike did you buy? and Im curious if you found this cheaper than just buying in the area.

Goodluck on the journey!

It's another BMW. A 2011 R1200RT-P. I need a backup/training bike and this one is a rare one to find, especially at discount. It does come with a salvage title from clipping a deer with the crash bar, but it's been repaired and given a clean bill of health by the BMW dealership out there.

I am a die hard RT fan and I'm excited to get my hands on one of these, as most of the camhead police RTs are still in service and will be high mileage before they get sold off.

What a neat adventure.
Suggest you pick up a kit for plugging tires including the compressor, just in case you get a flat.

Well, if you need any parts for that thing, let me know. I have a few....
