***SOLD*** 1991 Suzuki GSXR400

Suzuki
1991 GSXR400 - SOLD

To the best of my knowledge, this is not an SP2 but it is supposed to have several SP2 parts. I know the Carbs are off of an SP2 and it appears the wiring harness too. It may actually be an SP2, I don't know.

31k miles
CA title
Engine runs good, no signs or issues or leaks
Art Pro-Series 2 Slip-on

The bike runs, but the carbs still need the correct jetting. I cannot get it to be happy and I am tried of trying. I had it close once, but it seemed to rich so i went the other way and gave up. I need to turn my focus to other projects so I need to let this one go.

I have owned it for about 5 years, only tinkering with the carbs 1-2 times a year then putting in back in the corner until next time.

I think the red is stock, but again... I have no idea. I have full decal set of the Blue/Blue/White as I planed to paint it white with the graphics. the body work is in good shape, little things here/there but really good for it's age.

CA Title
Last registered expired in August 2007. I don't know if CA keeps piling fees after 10 years. I can provide VIN and Picture of the title and help the research if needed. Title is signed by the seller and 'new owner' section is blank.

The bike is in Reno NV. I can deliver in Sacramento on 23/24-Jan or we can make arrangements to pick-up or delivery in Bay Area.

If the prior owner is willing to state in a statement of facts that the bike has been out of California since before the California Registration expired, then you can usually skip the late fees. I have been able to do that twice in the past.

another option might be to register it in NV, I think that clears the fees

I honestly have no memory of a GSXR-400 being native to the US. This isn't an import from Japan?

You might have a hard time getting a CA plate back on it as they were not sold here.

The GSXR400 is a grey market import. Never sold here. Hence never passed DOT or CARB specs. A savvy cop can confiscate it but that rarely happens.
If you can manage to get it back into current CA registration that's a bonus.

If you take it to the right guy for VIN verification it isn't a problem. I bought my 14 WR450 with a SD plate and now have a CA plate.

Someone else on here suggested a guy. Cost $75 IIRC. Then again, who knows if they'll catch it when it comes time to renew reg (I did this in September).

If i title it in NV to clear fees I'm told it will not get back in CA. From what I understood is it would transfer title in CA since it's previously/currently titled in CA. I'll have to find out what the time limit is on fees. NV drop VIN history around 7 years.

Looks like I'll have to take a trip to Truckee to talk to the CA DMV
