Hey all,

I’m trying to fit an SP1 front wheel to my CBR. it requires small custom spacers and some trimming inside the wheel. Any folks you’d recommend in the SJ area to do this?

Thanks

Hi John
Over the year we have fitted a lot of different wheels at all kinds of bike. I'm pretty sure we can help. the only problem we aren't near JS
K.C.

I'd call Jim Davis at Advanced Cycle Service and see if it's something he could handle. Not sure if he handles that kinds of machining work, though. He's really the only person I trust to work on my bikes other than myself ;)

If Jim can't help you, try Nichols Sportbikes in Milpitas. Jon Nichols is a machinist by trade, so he should be able to handle the necessary machining if Jim Davis can't.

Glad I could bring a smile to your face. I'm the first to say that I really suck at spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Thank god for spell check. Being one of the first kids diagnosed with Dyslexia back in the early 60s. It has not been easy. But I do my best to help out here on BARF. I think with 45+ years in the trade and being the owner of BRG motorsport, I bring some to the table. I think in most case I get my point across? Even with all the, how you put it "typos". But you know even at the ripe old age of 64 years. It still bugs the hell out of me that I'm not better at this writing stuff. But when someone like you rubs my nose it, it just makes me try harder. so thanks for pointing out my shortcomings. You get a smile and food pellet for the day good job....:thumbup

Weeeeeell since we're talking about it, the video you posted says "sinkness" instead of "sickness". I don't care. The bike is sweet.

Denounce the red pen damn it, this is a motorcycle forum not grammar and spelling 101

Hmmm, a red pen. Where is it? Anyone know where's that red pen is?

Thanks for pointing that out. "Really" my proof person missed it, It's been fixed. :thumbup

Can everyone stop yelling? You're gonna make Thatch cry.

You'll probably need someone competent as a machinist rather than a mechanic.

I doubt you'll find many mechanics equipped with decent machine shops. BRG is, though.

So is Nichols Sportbikes/Nichols Manufacturing and they have they advantage that they're much closer to the OP... Jon Nichols has been running Nichols Manufacturing for 40 years and Nichols Sportbikes for 25, so I'd guess he knows what he's doing.

I've heard good things about them too, never been there and didn't know they had a decent machine shop.

Just wanted to make it clear that you need more than what an average motorcycle shop has.
