Found rumors suggesting it would be confirmed after the race today, but don’t see any confirmations. Joe hasn’t been terribly consistent this year and Aprilia isn’t known for accomplishing anything at all in GP, but I’d still be excited to see an American on the grid. A Keith Code pupil even.

Hope it happens.

His current contract would have to be broken.
I think Chaz Davies makes sense. More so than Joe really but routing for Joe. The Code connection is cool.

I think the Ape will continue to improve. I am impressed with their commitment and effort. If they can find more power they will be a player. Hope they do.

Looks like this is not going to happen... Aprilia will keep Smith and Salvadori and define who will be riding and who will be they Test Rider over the winter break.

Would've been great to see JRoberts on a MotoGP but this could be a good thing with potentially better options available for him next year.

He'll get a great year on a more competitive Moto2 bike and should be a top candidate to "graduate"

I'm a big fan of Chaz and would hate to see him saddled with an Ape.

Yup.. no Joe

Have to agree Kelso... more talent available.
Maybe their saving $$ to make the bike better.. I hope that is the case because the second seat won't sniff much success in my opinion.

According to the-race MotoGP podcast Joe had a contract and it was suddenly torn up Sunday. Wonder wtf happened.

Maybe he could not get out of the agreement he already signed?? Legal shit.

I gotta admit, I'm happy Joe is staying in Moto2- and going to one of the best teams in the paddock. Something that really can't be said about Aprilia's MotoGP effort.

That said I was hoping Chaz got the nod. Savadori may be young, but can't say he was particularly impressive.
