Hi folks,

@AnywhereAtAll & I came upon this a couple weeks ago entering Reiff Rd/Rd 40 from Knoxville/Morgan Valley.

The sign indicated a closure through Aug 31, and I called the number yesterday to confirm if it'll be open this coming weekend, and the nice fellow I spoke to said that they have extended their closure through the end of September.

The Homestake Mining Co is doing road work by Davis reservoir. He said they'd tried to keep the road open during construction, but had incidents where motorcycles/ATVs were flying around corners and in two cases crashed, resulting in injuries, so they closed the road.

He said it should be open from the Cache Creek (Rayhouse Rd) side until about one mile east of Davis Reservoir, so riding from the east to 4 corners, and to Buck Island & Fiske Rd, should be possible...

...unless Colusa Co has started on the low-water bridge replacement project at Cache Creek? If no one else knows the recent status on that, I'll report back after this weekend as I'll be nearby (to see if Rd 41 is really a through road or not)

Rgds,
Adam

:thumbup
and thanks for the heads up.

No access to Rd.40/Reiff/Rayhouse for a while

.... and the Hwy 16 (Cache Creek/Rayhouse Rd) side is closed indefinitely too, as they're replacing the low-water bridge.

It will be good to have a proper bridge there eventually, but in the meantime, no access at all to Rd 40 from either end through at least the end of September, and probably quite a while longer than that on the east side.

Went by on Tuesday Nov 9th, entering Reiff Rd from Morgan Valley, the gate was still there. Note said closures are expected thorough Nov 31st.

Too bad, I bet the dirt is pretty good. Any idea about the Cache Creek side? Good riding, if that side is open.

shows it closed on both ends with an ETA of 11.30 for the Lake Co. side, and no ETA for the Cache Creek side. Been meaning to call Yolo Co and see what the bridge project timeline is. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be done this year though. Will update here when I do so.

Rumor has it you *may* be able to ride across the temporary bridge if there's no construction activity (and Cache Creek isn't too high?).

Thanks for the updates, decided it was the same drive time for me to go to Georgetown with unmolested dirt from UTV's.

Much funner riding gerogetown than getting my guts blasted by riding knoxville.

I just posted in the sticky thread that the bridge has been completed, and the road is finally open again.
