Hello fellow OHV enthusiast~
The bomb cyclone that came through California hit our beloved OHV trails in the Stonyford riding area very hard.
If you have followed the Mendocino social media accounts, you know that M10 and M5, near Cedar Camp, have slid and are impassable with a vehicle.
Along with all the obvious downed trees, there may be unknown slides we are not yet aware of.
Please keep in mind that Trail 3 has a massive slide and is currently closed between M5 and Trail 4.
Until we restore trail access we are unable to get out into the heart of the trail system to inspect for other damages.
We are requesting the help of you and your friends to join us @ 10 AM on Saturday, January 28th on the Nail Track.
We can divide and conquer with saws and muscle to open up these trails to assess what other damage may be out there.
If you would like to join us, please RSVP. Bring your OHV of choice, a hand saw if you have one, water and food.
We have hand saws for your use. You must be USFS Chainsaw certified for us to allow use and record your time toward volunteer hours to match the OHV grant.
As of today the trail system is still closed. At this time, we are not sure if the trails will be open next Saturday but we will be hosting a volunteer work day.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing back from you!
