Friday we had a great ride over the 4, with clean asphalt on Ebbetts and Monitor Pass. There was some Walker BBQ, and then out to Lucky Boy for the crossingSaturday was spent being chased by the storm. Just a light sprinkle on the way out of town but the roads were dry.
We rode the loop to Benton station only to discover that 120 was closed for the Mammoth bicycle run until 1pm.
I remember this happened last time, so it was the long way down to Bishop and back up to June lake for lunch

Just so all know.. Mako is OK. That is him in the black shirt in the back of the truck in the last pic.
I grade the riding days in a simple way.
Perfect = No tickets, no crashes, no mechanicals. (great weather
)
Good = No tickets, no mechanicals, no marjor injuries, bike is fixable.
Fair = No major injuries, no ticket, bike is fucked.
Poor = shitty.
Glad it was fair. Some good samartins saved our ass by taking the bike over the hill to Strawberry and then Kevin350 having his truck.
Made for some drama. Shit happens.

It was another cracking Rydther Rally. I managed a total of 4 photos for the whole weekend; hopeless 
First picture is from the fine establishment, Gil's. It was great to meet the locals. Picture two is from lunch midway through Saturday's cock and balls ride, a 370 mile out and back over Monitor, Ebbett's, and Sonora passes. A delicious pulled pork sandwich from Cured Belly in Murphy's. Picture three captures one of several downpours during Saturday. And the last picture sums up Saturday evening, L8braker enjoying the atmosphere at Barley's.

One of the more interesting objects.
Met 94 year old LtCol Robert Swift USAF Ret. B-29 and B-47 Navigator, former Commanding Officer of the Army Depot. He spoke my (military) language, f-this, god damn that, etc. I shook his hand to say goodbye "Thank you Colonel" and he gripped my hand tighter and pulled me towards him "You call me Bob, or I'll put you on the floor." As we walked out the door he yelled "I'll see you bastards next year."

Not many pics and all are just sad. I am still working out how the seat sub frame ended up being a sissy bar and what must have taken place to see all the damage to the bike and Mako.
As noted he walked away, but with some left overs to remind him he was lucky.
Just glad it worked out and both bike and he made it to L8Brakers house.
