Adventure riding short rides and BS thread

if we schedule a Taft BARF rally in the spring, there is a dirt road that would be doable on your Duc ... I did the road (Hurricane Ridge Road) at our last Taft BARF rally on my '88 K75s. if we get lucky with the timing and maybe a super-bloom in 2026, it would be awesome. :ride

I took the tundra, the dog, and the beta a few years back. It was really stunning. I came in from the south on Elkhorn Rd and wild camped. I’m really hoping I have the little Ib3x for this.

I was talking with someone at the n00bs Rally who stayed with the Songdog peeps, recently. guess they are doing hip-camp type things, nowadaze. :ride

The guy I was speaking to gave me the impression that they are running on all cylinders. He knew who Jenny was, and was talking about her kinda running the reservations these days.

idk how many BARF campers there are, but we did a hip-camp with the Santa Cruz motorcycle podcast people one spring, and the SFMC had reservations to go back the next Spring, but then Covid happened. :-(

Songdog, camping, heck yeah! Haven't been there since the bale house fire though.
Sleeping out on the mesa watching the stars go by = awesomeness.
Plus the :ride to and from is pretty epic.
(Cautionary note: Ya can't out run the helicopter and the radio heading west on 58. They be waiting for ya at Shell Creek Rd.)

They don't do the catering (food) anymore so you have to plan for that. If you go back into Maricopa or Taft for dinner(s) and partake in mucho libations just remember ya gotta ride back through the dry creek bed and up the hill! Maricopa has Tina's Diner, a couple dive bars (The Hut comes to mind, if it's still open) and there is a motel in town. Taft has more to offer regarding places to eat, drink and stay if you're a wussy and don't want to "camp"!

BARF rally to Taft / Songdog this summer or fall? Any interest? Friday, Saturday nights or just Saturday.
Let me check, I know a guy.
