how he low side and bike went he didnt?

Definitely not a lowside. A bit hard to explain, but the bike did a front one and a quarter, launching David down the road as the bike went down the culvert. David landed flat on his back in the roadway. The bike landed down in that culvert, which had to be more than six feet deep. Quite spectacular.

I just noticed Natalie's pics from Friday of the rally are posted on David's site. Here are a few for your amusement.

Fine dining outside of the local Casino supermarche'. :laughing

Natalie and I had toasted the tires on our bikes the day before. Hers was in the local shop getting a new front tire, but they were closed for lunch, so while we waited we went for one more ride in a loop that would take us down to Guillestre then back to Col d'Izoard to get back to the dealer. I think there are photos of our tires earlier in the thread. Well past their sell-by. Natalie road pillion with David and then with Stuart.

The scenery is always great!

Natalie, thanks for the use of your photos.

Hey Kurt! When you say "Fast Guys", are they fast because they have ridden the roads a million times or "Fast" as in just plain crazy speed anywhere anytime?
Just wanna plan my riding strategy-who to follow who not to- in case there are any blind whoopdies to catch air on in the Alps!:laughing

But wait! There's more!

Local speed warning signs.

They are very, very good riders. No worries with following any of them. If you can keep up - and I think you just might - just do what they do and you should be fine.

However, if you come past them at 30+ mph faster - as you've been known to do - things could get interesting. :party

So I guess it is time to post the final video - the one with a certain group of motorcyclists riding past the GoPro so close that I'm in fear for my arm, jump out of the way, and use some very colorful language?

Is this good for a flying couch?

Good to hear.
Don't wanna be on the naughty list so I won't be doing any high speed or twisty blow by's, promise. I will be MORE than happy to putter joyfully in the back on my rental and take in the views.

Just wanted to make sure that there aren't riders like "California- me " leading the way.:Pirate:laughing

Where ever did I get this demon-spawn rider rep?? Don't answer that.:p

@flying_hun Would love to do this again! It's about time for me.
Well, I got back about a month ago, but I will be returning next year. If you're interested, let's stay in touch. I haven't decided for sure, but I'm leaning towards going in September just to miss the crowds.

I thought of you when we encountered photographers on Galibier again, but I just can't match you for style! :laughing
