First Post :) Weekend ride through Gold Country

We decided to take our Harley on a weekend ride through Northern California's Gold Country. We didn't have the full trip mapped out, but loosely planned a ride through Rio Vista, Ione, and Copperopolis. We have been through this area before and wanted to spend a weekend exploring. That is what makes for a wonderful weekend motorcycle ride; generally heading towards an area and seeing what's there. Rio Vista is a great little town. We had lunch there and then headed to Ione for a short break and Copperopolis for the night. On a whim, we decided to ride up to Calavara Big Trees State Park. It turned out to be a great idea. It's a beautiful place, and we had a great day riding through the trees. It couldn't have been better. From vineyards to golding rolling hills and up into pine country, this is why we ride.
