so thanks to BARF and SSA i got a free trackday at Reno Fernly, itwas my first trackday and i made good use of it!

thanks to 4theriders i got some awesome shots, and I even made sure to crash where they were posted so i have 2 angles of the crash!
I'm very surprized i was dragging knee around every corner for my first fay, i thought i would touch it down but damn..

if you have any critiques of my body positioning(not during the crash) i would love to hear it. thanks.

it was the most gentle crash ever! my plastics didn't get one scratch on them, i did leak some water wetter out of a hose once the bike was sideways, bent the rearset a bit, but not bad enough that i couldn't go back out the next session!

oh yeah, i did burn my hand on my exhaust before i went out and crashed >_< stupid mistake... but soaking my glove in the ice chest let me go back out :thumbup:thumbup

its ok its just water, but they red flagged anyways!

oh yeah, the only damage my leather took was in the knee when i was sliding on the leather trying to save it. no scratches anywhere else :thumbup:thumbup

damn man.. glad all is well.. it looked like it was going to be bad when you got your hand off the bars. keep your hands on the bars and stay committed if you can..you may have just slid on your back.

it looked like you could have broken your wrist.

yeah, i picked my hand up after i realized that i proably shouldn't put it on the ground. but i think years of falling in gymnastics and skateboarding/ bmx made it a little less scary and more natural to crash. lol

Years of martial arts = knowing instinctively how to fall.

I had a corner worker give me a "10" for my crash on Monday. :laughing Did a sliding headstand for extra style points. :p

lookin' good for your 1st track day Genki. :thumbup

and this is why we don't wear half helmets

if it was Z2.. you'd be done for the day.

Wow. Scrolling down, that was like a slow-mo.. If you want, I can turn them into an animated gif for you :rofl

did your helmet take much damage? sucks you crashed, but those are some cool pics!

the helmet took no damage at all, none. it didn't even touch the ground:thumbup

and it was 2nd to last session of the day, so i wouldn't have missed that much i guess, but i'm glad it wasn't zoom zoom since i crashed!

You look good out there.

When you feel a lowside coming try to slide on your elbows/shoulders--not on your stomach, face down.

I dont think that would off been the cause for him to crash, ideally your supposed to be really light on the handle bars, to the point you could let go. Once you set your line and lean angle there is no need to "hold" the bars. Unless there is something wrong with your bike, suspension or tires that prevents the bike from holding its line in a corner.

But I am still a newbie for life, this is just my own obseveration from my own experience.

I thought your bike was green on the tuesday ride.. Dude I've never seen a superman dive like that,, You Kool man

It looks like your tires are bald. what psi were you running

my other bike is green, my 08 zx-6r, this is my track bike :) 05 636, my tires are perfect still, plenty tread left, BT-003s :thumbup i psi was 30/30 front/rear worked fine for me.

Those pressures seem a little high. I was told to run them 27/24. I just switched to them from PRs so I’m kind of interested. Were you on the front brake when it happened? What lap of the session did it happen on?

yeah, i don't know much about tire pressure or anything.

i was on the front brake, you can see in the picture, but if i wasn't there would probably be scratches on the plastics, or my leathers.

Framesliders FTW! And dude, you totally hosed my line! :laughing Eddie was giving me a tow in C, and we came on the crash right as you were standing up! I had an "oh, shit!" moment, followed by "dammit, that's my line... ok, we'll just jank right..." I was glad to see you up on your feet, though! Glad you're OK! And good job finding the right spot to crash- in front of the photographers!! :thumbup
