I was a new 81 ironhead sportster owner in 1996, they were intimidating but friendly and helpful as could be.

well, that was fun.

I didn’t ride the FXSB, but just strolled over … I was confused, too, but Big Wayne’s venerable shop was “California Choppers” … I was introduced to the owner of “Frisco Choppers” but didn’t recognize him.

this part of the city is turning into a little motorcycle district, with Moto Lucia, Tokyo Motors, SF Moto and now Frisco Choppers all within a few blocks … Tokyo Motors was offering test rides this afternoon:

anyway, apparently I’m still confused … thought “Frisco Choppers” was a “new” shop, but the flyer says “since 1975” …

and now that I think about it I seem to recall that “California Choppers” was called “Frisco Choppers,” but changed their name to “California Choppers” a few years ago? idk.

will see what I can find out about the history and current ownership.

I think you're right, it was California choppers back in the '90s that I remember.
They just had a little frisco branded gear. I still have a "frisco" hat I got there lol

Sweet! Looks like a great turnout. I was thinking the same thing about that area becoming a Moto-Gulch..
