I used to take my other bike to hare racing, I googled them and found out they may have shut down? Is this true? If so, what is another reputable place I can service or mod my new bike near the bay area (redwood city)
thanks..

yes it is true that hare racing is no longer in business. IIRC the mechanic that bought the shop from lance is now working @ pennisula honda/ducati.

Flat out best tuner EVAR is Patrick Ho. He's in Pinole, and totally worth the drive. You don't take the bike to him for an oil change... but for actual engine work, valve adjustments, etc, there is no one better, and his rates are incredibly competitive. Check my sig line for a link to his website and to contact him.

Other shop I go to is Motowrx in Livermore (again, see my sig line... on Portola, right off the freeway on your left). Jason and crew have taken the best care of me! Their prices are competitive, and if you go in and tell them I sent you, you'll get the "Gixxergirl discount"-- which varies every time, but will always get a little something knocked off the price! :laughing The guys all ride, are track day instructors, and have had the same addiction to bikes we've got... so they're very knowledgeable. :thumbup
MOTOWRX: 925-371-8413

Suspension adjustments have been done by Phil at Aftershocks, and I'm very pleased with what he's done... my bike handles a LOT better now! :)

I would have to agree,Patrick is about the only person I would let work on my bike, because he is even more thorough than I am.His cylinder head work is some of the best ANYWHERE,and makes very good, useable power. My other shop would be Werkstatt in SF....Robbie

OMG, Geezzz... Now I feel I must meet this Patrick. How for is Pinole from Fremont?

Takes me 45 minutes from Livermore. WORTH THE DRIVE. He is AMAZING. Plus the man knows how to brew a fabulous pot of coffee!! :teeth
Hit the link in my sigline to his website... there's a lot of pics of some of his work, dyno charts from "before Patrick" and "after Patrick"... unbelievable. He's so painstaking in his work, and his attention to detail is almost scary. It's really cool to watch him fabricate parts, too!

I was just over there last night, while he did a valve adjustment on my bike. He took the time to explain what he was doing, which taught me a lot. Dunno how much I retained, but it was cool learning new stuff. Watching him measure the clearances, then doing compression testing and clearing carbon out, and how that then changed the measurements... I can't imagine a lot of shops take the time to take all those steps... but I'll tell you what- the man is worth every penny.

For the north bay: Sportbike Dynamics.

Hmm.. Never heard of Patrick Ho, but I may be giving him a call sometime. I need some dyno tune work on the DRZ. He may be the man!
