1977 Yamaha RD400
I've been reading posts on this site for a few years now, especially @Frame Maker 's amazing projects so finally figured I'd register today.

My current bike is a 1977 Yamaha RD400 that I picked up Craigslist 12 years ago and have been slowly building it into a Steve Baker replica/tribute ever since. Prior to that I had a 1999 Ducati 996, 1984 FJ1100, 1978 SR500, Suzuki GS550, a couple of Honda CB500-4s, and a bunch of dirt bikes from a Can-Am 250TnT to a TC120 Suzuki!

3photos attached. One of the bike as I received it! One of it my basement showing some of the build, CMR/Cox seat/tank/swingarm, CBR125R wheels, R6S forks, Spec II chambers,, etc. At the stage where I need to sort out a wiring harness (VAPE ignition), an few mounts for the tach/speedo and turn signals. It will be painted to match Steve Baker's TZ which I have photos of I took in 1976 at Mosport (one of which is included here!).

Looking for advice on how to “paint” the pipes as I'm wanting to leave them natural so do I clear ceramic coat or use an oil/wax finish?
