I'm doing some research about lane splitting. Someone posted this same poll on a smaller forum I use, so I thought I'd ask everyone here the same question.

I've never hit a mirror while lane SHARING.
but damn have I come close.

If I was in my cage and a bike hit my mirror, I'd get really fukn pissed and want bad things to happen to them.
Only an irresponsible idiot would accidently hit a mirror, either there is room to pass or not, if its real close, dont risk it.

Now I know some purposely knock off mirrors, but thats different.
 
Are you including ticks? The kind the car probably didn't even notice?

If so, 3-10. Only two that required me to pull over. Never any damage.
 
Just one on 17 & it wasn't on purpose. I think it was an Expeditions.
 
once. i was splitting towards the front of the traffic light, i accidentally clipped a van's side mirror with my elbow. after the traffic light, i signal him to pull over if the driver wanted to discuss or check for any damage. he kept on going. i went to work with a sore elbow.

when I first started out, I bumped an F150's mirror. His passenger re adjusted, flipped me off, and they left. I'm happy with the outcome.
 
One with my helmet around a corner.

One when some jackass looked me in my eye and swerved into me. Actually, that was a dislodged mirror.
 
You neglected to let people indicate how many times they did it on purpose!! Most of mine were intentional, as in someone was attempting to block me out or driving stupidly. The mirrors usually pop right off!!!
 
Twice. Once because I was a n00b and once because the fucking asshole started to swerve out of his lane.

Its useful that Yamaha mirrors fold in easily.
 
on accident, none, on purpose, a bunch in my younger days splitting in L.A., back then a purposeful block by a cager earned him at leat 1 tag, bad ones got dinged by my AXO turbos..............:flame
 
I haven't hit any, but someone has hit mine (cage) intentionally...
