leather pants question

hopefully will find out soon
In the near future I'm going to need to get myself a decent pair of leather pants, preferably ones that aren't too hot (I won't be riding in the cold all that much). My concern is that I'm not the tallest person. I'm 5'10", 185, and usually wear 36/30 jeans. I've tried on a few different textile pants, and they all seem to be a bit long. Does anyone else have this problem? What brand/specific pant do you suggest? I'm not quite wealthy enough to get custom fitted pants (syed/vanson). Thanks in advance for the help.

TSC Girl has some nice leather pants. None of that fancy decor, just plain ol' black. They fit her like a glove. She's only 5'2" (or something ridiculous like that) so I'm sure you can find some that fit you well.

Not sure if I'd ride in the ones she has though... :D

I haven't become desperate enough yet to wear women's pants, but thanks for the suggestion, hehe. No transvestite sportbike rider look in my future :D

From what you said of your size I don't think you will have to much of a problem. The only people that have a hard time finding suits are the tall, thin people. . . . .like me. :(

try zumies i think it is in san jose, they custom fit their stuff for u, or u can buy elsewhere and have them fit it to you.

I have a problem finding pants. Some dream of it and call it a gift, but it's not... it's a curse. I had to hide my identity on SBN when I brought this up before, but I'm "oversized" and....

......need some extra room in the seat. wasnt it Ed that noticed this on you in some long ago thread?

Hey Steve, I think you should get off your apparently large ass:twofinger and post some pics of TSC in her leather pants. You know, so Keg, could get a visual idea of what they look like. :twofinger Also, TSC in the school girl out fit might be good:twofinger :twofinger

You know, I think that will help me greatly in my decision making process. Good suggestion :eek:ld-cool

"apparently" ... you crack me up!

You want me to post the one of her wearing the blue or the red plaid (the one I had on last night, remember?)

What kind of leather pant are you looking for. Regular leather pants(i.e.:casual wear/night out) or are you looking for a more riding oriented pant?

Cause if you want just regular pants my g/f can make some from scratch.

[getting back on topic] I'm looking for leather riding pants (with reinforced hips/knees/shins/etc.). Just trying to find a brand that doesn't run long (because I know some brands do run long).

Steve, that was JTT not me last night:twofinger Remember, I'm the one with the big...:twofinger

Keg, how much do you want to spend?

:eek:ld-laugh

as long as your tucking them into boots it shouldn't be so hard to get a pair altered, (hell my dry cleaner can do it)

are you looking for sport touring pants or do you need velcro for sliders as well?

my Hein Gericke are great, just make sure you try them on in full gear & sit on your bike before you buy them, just standing in the store in front of a mirror dosn't work.

I'm looking at $200 or less; however, if I can find some quality leather pants that will last, I'm prepared to spend a little bit more than that. To answer VFRWeasel's question - I don't need knee sliders just yet (still new to riding).

Hey KT.... get the Heine Gericke textile I got ... they have velcro for sliders but don't come w/ them. Whether you're ready to drag or not, pucks are helpful in a fall... my slider took most of the damage when Glen ran me off the road and into that guardrail.

All kidding aside, they're tremendous pants; don't get too hot in the summer, plenty warm in the winter, have slider velcro, and held up very well in my dump - I'm still wearing htem. I think that HG stopped marketing them and First Gear has 'em now. If you're interested I'll find out the exact model for ya.

EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! wash em already!!!!!! dont they smell?
