Is Mavericks happening at this time? If so, how and where to watch the surf action? I saw a vid of the break today, which is supposedly about 25'.

We have lunch in town and ride our bikes on the bluffs from HMB every 3 to 5 weeks; this would be my M.O. Park far away and ride in. Thank you very much for the tip!! Seeing the break with surfers is a bucket list item for me.

Riding bikes on the bluffs is sooo nice - good for you! If you try to ride all the way to the point, heads-up it can be very slippery for bikes after a rain. To see the break up close, you can also grab a seat on a charter boat for about $300. It is often firing during Thanksgiving weekend. The people who document the break the best (and doing it for decades) are Powerlines Productions on Instagram. Worth keeping tabs on. It also makes sense to track the tides as the reefs can be walkable.

Thank you again, we will keep this in mind. SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed), my wife, will be 73 in January. She loves riding the bluffs and is a trooper on her Turbo Tero 5.0. We love being there at low tide to ride onto Maverick's Beach to watch the tidepoolers. It truly is a special place.
