2021 Ducati Scrambler
Hi everyone

Been off a bike for close to 10 years and decided to dust off the wallet and picked up a Ducati Scrambler which I am really liking. I have been riding on and off for 30 years but have never been what I call an accomplished rider which I will do my best to change this time around. I plan on parking lot drills to improve my slow speed skills and I really need to overcome my fear of freeways and wind as my dream would be a multi day ride someplace and perhaps a cross country ride (perhaps not on the scrambler)
I have been eagerly reading the sections on rider safety on this forum so plan to implement many of the suggestions.

Welcome! I’ll be interested to hear how your experience on the bike unfolds.

So far so good, it's not an intimidating bike compared to some I have had in the past so that's a great start, nice and comfortable and just feels right for me.

Welcome to BARF, Scramby! Sounds like you’re headed in the right direction and doing things right. 👍🏼

Welcome back to the fun side! Scrambler is a great bike to re-start, and continue your riding career on.

You can find a bunch more safety tips here: https://www.msgroup.org/articles.aspx

I would suggest getting the book Proficient Motorcycling by David L. Hough and studying it. That book has done more than any other to help me be a safe rider.

We are blessed with a bunch of awesome race tracks right near us. Even if you are slow, the race track is a great experience. Do it

Just checked out the link you sent, and wow, lots of information, I cannot thank you enough for this.
I really believe that part of giving up on riding in the past was fear and frustration. With a reasonable sum of money now invested in a new bike and importantly new gear, I am adamant I need to make it work this time.
I have also bought the recommended book so will study it starting today.
Thank you again

Other advice: ride with BARFers. Folks love to help. Show off their prowess. Really.
