I did.. long story short.. Eurobikes fairings SUCK!!! I had to send it back.. there was no way it was going to fit and now the delema i have is that you cannot have motor-mount frame sliders AND a lower fairing.. the lower fairing has a place for 'fairing protectors' but those are lame and dont even do anything.. there are brackets you can use underneith the fairing to mount sliders but i question the stability of them.. so .. i dont knows! :(

Pete.. I see you have quite a collection of sponsers lined up for next year!!! awesome! :thumbup

You can actually fit the motor mount sliders with the lowers, you just need to cut a nice little hole with a Dremel and holesaw attachment where the sliders are suppose to come out. Not the best solution, but quite a few people do it since they don't want to buy new sliders or they question the stability of the brackets.

Here are some directions I found:

1. remove the stock bolt where you want to mount the sliders.

2. install the longer slider bolt and leave a little bit of it hanging out

3. place play-dough (sp?) or sticky putty on the inside of the fairing in the approximate location the slider is going to go

4. install the fairing as normal

5. remove the fairing you just replaced and there will be an imprint of the bolt head in the play-dough

6. use a small drill bit to start a pilot hole in the center of the imprinted bolt head (such as a 1/8" drill bit)

7. now you have a pilot hole in the exact center of where the slider will be. remove the play-dough and either use a hole-saw of the correct diameter or draw a circle on the fairing (with non-permanent ink) and use a dremmel tool to cut the circle

8. install the slider

9. install the fairing

thanks.. i had asked about it before but it seemed that no one had done it so... i figured you couldnt.. Isnt that spot on the fairing a weak point to drill a whole? Also i dont think the sliders are long enough..the motor-mount bolt would also not be long enough.. any ideas on that?

Keep in mind, frame sliders are to protect the frame/engine, not the fairings. They don't have to be long enough to stick way out of the fairings.

If the fairings are plastic or fiberglass, drilling a nice neat hole for the sliders shouldn't be an issue.

Go factory Suzuki. It will fit the best.

Drlling fairings for sliders is not a problem. It just takes time and patience. Your boy Alan can install them.:cool

I said "Your boy" cause you have his shop in your sig line.:confused :angel

Like Drizz said, the slider's main purpose is to protect the frame. Insurance will take care of the fairings.;)
Order the fairing & sliders then let Junior get busy:eboy
My SV is coming along well. I have most of my parts. I just need to get busy myself. :blush I'll post up some pics next week.:cool
