ZZ Top drummer Frank beard has died at age 77. I really enjoyed ZZ Top, especially in high school and later years. He will be missed.

Another great one is gone.

Somewhere, possibly on Amazon Prime or Netflix, there’s a great documentary on ZZ Top.

Well, the 2/3 of the band I least expected went before the 1/3 I would have thought would kick first.

Thanks for all the great music, Frank, Dusty.

I’m happy that I saw them live with my wife at The Mountain Winery in the mountains above Saratoga. They put on a great show.

I hope Frank went out with no regrets, he certainly seemed to have an awesome life.

Back in '76 or '77. I saw ZZ top in Nashville with their worldwide tour. It had a massive stage shaped like Texas, vultures on stands around the stage, and during the break a female coyote Wrangler came out and had some coyotes do tricks.

J. Geils band was the warm-up

Saw them again in the '90s on their recycler tour, I think at the Oakland coliseum. They drove around the stage in little crushed car cubes.

Those dudes knew how to party and had an awesome sense of humor

I saw the same tour at the SF cow palace in 1977. Similar stage setup , but they also had a bull in a pen on the stage.

:rip Frank.
I've seen then many times and they were always great! (except the last time)

Unfortunately Billy G will keep touring. He should have hung up the ZZ Top name after Dusty died... we saw them last year and they sucked (for the first time)

I never followed or knew much about ZZ Top but way back in the mid '80's my best friend from highschool completed his college degree in Florence, Italy. He invited me out to travel Europe for a few weeks the Summer after he finished. We saw and did it all Florence, Rome, Paris, Zurich, Greece, Berlin, etc. The one thing that brings back memories of that awesome trip was the ZZ Top song "Cheap Sunglasses" which was a big hit at the time and we heard it everywhere we went regardless of country.

Frank Beard, the only ZZ Top musician that didn't have one, well, not a long one. Thank you sir, may you rest in peace. Rumours goin' round...... Thanks for the timeless music.
