See something? Say something!

Like it. I have had friends bring that for me. :laughing

I got a theme song too. AC/DC- Budman Struck

Pretty funny having 8 friends going BUDMAN (instead of Thunder).

Which AC/DC song? You shook me all night long or Dirty deeds done cheap?

Given the class of people, opportunity, a thief is going to thief.
Very likely Could’ve prevented the drama by using a lock = such as a front brake lever clamp lock.
It is nice that the bike was returned to the owner.

Back story—

last night I left work in Concord, as I drove my usual route home, I saw a group of 4 guys walking on the side walk and one of them was pushing a dirt bike. As I passed them I looked over and noticed the bike was incredibly clean, all of them looked filthy, and I assumed homeless. Also worth mentioning that none of the 4 guys had any moto gear. I felt like something was incredibly fishy so I called Concord non emergency number and reported what I saw. I ended up pulling over so I could snap some pictures of the guys and the bike just in case.
Concord PD said they would dispatch an officer to the area and have it checked out. I continued to watch them walk a couple more blocks before I decided to head home. I ended up seeing a Concord PD car posted up in a parking lot so I pulled in and told them what I had seen and I believed it was worth looking into. That officer took off in their direction and I went home.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it all night and into the next morning. On my lunch break I decided to head to contra costa power sports and SOSO cycles to see if they had a bike go missing, yet neither of them had anything go missing. As I drove back into work I randomly decided to google “stolen Alta”, sure as shit a guy on an electric bike forum posted that his Alta was stolen from a parking lot in pleasant Hill. I created an account and posted up what I saw and shared the photos I had taken.

I called Concord PD back and asked if the officer from my call last night had made any contact with the 4 guys but they didn’t have any information or updates, at least that they were willing to share. I then contacted Pleasant Hill police department and asked about the police report the owner had filed the day before. I received a call back from Corporal Kuhn and I gave him my statement as well as sending over all the photos I had.

I got a text a couple hours later that afternoon that they coordinated with Concord PD and were able to locate the Alta and arrest the guy who stole it thanks to the info and photos provided.

Just a reminder that when your out and about and you see something strange, report it, take photos, be careful obviously.

Criminals arrested and bikes returned.

Happy Thanksgiving Barfers!

Wow, it was snowing!

Nice Job @Toe! :mm4l
So he left that bike outside, and the side of a store unattended for 20 minutes? SMH

I mean it can't be used without the electronic key, but those guys dont even come close to knowing it. What they can do is roll it away and part it out or sell it for scrap.

AirTag your stuff, cheap insurance. Take out the speaker to make them more stealthy....
Might not work 100% but at least you'll have a chance (20min would definitely not be enough to activate the foreign airtag message on your phone)
