Another unique property to liquid water is that it contracts until a temperature of approximately 4 degrees C (39.2deg F) is reached. Then it expands slightly until it reaches the freezing point and when it freezes it expands by approximately 9%. And that my friends is why we run anti-freeze in our water cooled motos 'cause we don't want our blocks to crack.
