hey Gabe,

yes, your bike IS 'better' in the areas you noted

please forego the flat sheet rear 'fender' so easily/commonly done,
and incorporate an elegant, roundy shape down the center of said sheet instead

imagine a shortened section from this f'glass bevel Ducati replica:

I was going to use a chopped DRZ400 fender--it's a perfect fit.
 
that is a nice build! this was one of the inspirations for my CB350 build.

i had also hoped to see if i could get it under 300 pounds too. i have yet to put my bike on the scale but im pretty sure im not there.

Genius! If my bike ever makes more than 25 hp I'll consider it.
 
This little guy possibly made 25 HorsePushers, but it was more of a radical styling thing.
Back in the day, the Triumph factory racers had dual disc setups like this for the same reason. No right hand lower fork leg with caliper mounting legs at the time.

I want to see your CB350!

I posted this pic in a different thread here, but here's what it looks like right now. There's a couple more little stuff I need to finish up, like packaging the electronics a bit more neatly and finish badging the gas tank.

It was a rather complicated conversion to enable spokes - I'm using a hub off a Harley Nightster. This then required using 'busa rotors re-drilled to the harley bolt pattern and a custom 18" rim with 40 spokes.

the cost is pretty high, but its still cheaper than the approach I took when all is said and done. I'd go this route if I were doing this over again.

thank you! i've put plenty of blood, tears and sweat in it. it all is worth it when i take her out for a ride tho.

couple weeks ago, the clutch cable snapped apart on me while on Market. it was kind of embarassing (and exhausting) pushin the bike back home in full gear and all the pedestrians looking at me.

so advise to you all when cutting a clutch cable down to length, let the experts do it. :)

Been there, done that! Welcome to the vintage-bike experience.

I found out I seized a piston--what's awesome is I kept riding the bike for months! It was smokey but still made good power. I think I must have ran it out of oil.

EDCO in Petaluma has the top end--Mike Crowther will freshen things up, bore the cylinders a bit and I'll slap it all back together.
 
I may have it Gabe. For 250 and 350 Twins 1964-1974. Will have to look around for it. Do you still need it?
 
Ok. Well on the bright side it appears you had the best kind of engine seizure you can have - the kind you never knew happened! WTF! I guess I am used to the 2-stroke kind that locks it up and wants to throw you off like superman.
