...why exactly?
just in case?
...why exactly?
O.k. its been a while and I don't feel like sifting through this thread.
Can anyone tell me what the outcome of the GS 500 was?
Did it run? How well?
It runs, but I haven't got the bike streetable yet, so I don't have an answer to the question of how well. As of right now, it got me a job and is decorating my garage waiting for me to summon the motivation to finish it.
I've been playing around with some other stuff for bikes. Had a meeting with Brembo a month or two ago trying to pitch them on a patent I'm pursuing for some brake technology, so bike stuff is still happening for me, just not on this platform.

Amazing thread. I'm CE major at UCSC and major gearhead. This thread almost defines everything I love, engines, crazy ideas, love the microcontroller and megasquirt choices, etc. I have worked with basic CNC and machining and I can only hope that I'll be doing things like this in the next 5-6 years.
:-D
Love the milling finish combinations, nice work.
Glad to see you're still around. Hope you find the time to finish this bad boy! We are all anticipating.
Any way we can get a little info about what your brake patent entails? .
The cnc stuff is a great skillset to have... and you can make all sorts of fun toys.
Triple I made recently to put RSV4 Factory Ohlins forks on an Aprilia Mana:
Wow. Very nice. I'm guessing you have a nice 5 axis machine. Where I work we have a 3 axis Haas TM-01. You can probably still make something like that on a 3 axis if you turn it over a couple times correct?
That was made on a Haas 3 axis machine. 4 set ups. I could have done it in 3 set ups if I didn't want that surface finish.
Is that the "tool chatter" finish I've been hearing so much about....
