R6 RZv500 hybrid

They let me out on a trackday with that thing and it absolutely wouldn't be coming back in until it ran out of gas.

Too bad about the kickstarter knuckle and the frame.

Ok, at the risk of ridicule I have to ask. Two strokes were cool and all, I even had an RD250 and a friend dad a Kawasaki 350 triple. But what advantage does a 20+yr old two stroke have over the modern in line 600 four that came with that chassis?
Cool sound but narrow narrow powerband. I guess if you like the challenge of making it all work :thumbup

Two stroke engine development peaked 5-10 years after the RZ500. It's not the apex but it's far from an RD250 or Kawi triple.

That thing is bad ass! What city in Norway are you in? My wife and I back packed through Norway and had a great time.

Enjoy that machine!

I`m in Aalesund at the northwest coat. Just a hour from the famous Geirangerfjord!

Three words:
-sound
-smell
-the power curve of two stroke

and: when the engine is finished tuned, it will be at least the same power as the R6 engine.
But, as many ha pointed: this is a R6 with RD 500 engine.
I`ll say no. I used a R6 frame and rear arm (the rear arm of the R6 is a almost 100% copy of the arm from the last YZR 500 racer...), and the fuel tank (cause of tryed so many tanks wich didnt fit), the rest is NOT R6. I have driven it (without lights and plates!), and sat direct on my -10 R6 and tryed it. I can tell you the Øhlins, weels, harris tripple yoke, brembo brakes and so on really make the difference.. Its like day and night rideing the Rd, and that is also without a steering damper.....

That missing chunk of aluminum by the kickstarter is a bit of a bummer but I like the idea of putting that engine in a modern frame. I wonder if there's a better alternative.
