What Are You Thinking Of Right Now?

I’m thinking about our San Rafael neighbor and his family.

I’m thinking retirement mostly just happens. I approached retirement gradually by getting laid off and ended up starting my own consulting business. Then while taking care of my wife who had Alzheimer’s, I let my client base slowly dwindle until I had none. I made one last decision to refinance my home at 2.5 percent for 30 years and took my SS at 70 years of age. I now live entirely on my SS with zero need to touch my investments.

Big wave Bros are awesome.

Most amazing athletes.

i’m thinking i feel mentally and physically fantastic. work is demanding but i am so much better at coping with stress than i used to be.

i am also thinking sharing my house with another person has been absolutely amazing! everything is so much easier, the house is cleaner, and i am grateful. :)

I’m thinking about people I have casually encouraged and how amazing it is to see them go beyond any of my own accomplishments.

I’m also thinking big waves make me think of Beauregard, I hope he’s well.

I'm thinkin' the song is right. . . .

. . . .'once there was a river now there's a stone
you know it's evil then you're living alone.'

Yep. I, too, am glad it wasn’t a stroke.

I just had a very close friend of mine suffer a major stroke yesterday. Plus they found he has a heart infection and he’s been having seizures. He can’t use or feel the left side of his body. He’s now blind in his left eye with limited vision in his right eye. And he has difficulty swallowing and speaking.

A stroke is, generally, nothing to take lightly. May we all avoid having a stroke, it will forever change your life. (Too late for me, though.)

the seconds tick the time out. you don’t know what it’s like, to be a mother. them being seen for who they are. you pray the universe accepts them kindly. but still you push them out there. come what may.

i survived. you will too.

i’m thinking migraines suck but i’m glad it wasn’t a stroke.

this week has me very tired and grateful tomorrow is a day of rest.

Migraines. . . . the very bane of my existence from childhood to about forty-five. At the age of forty-five my wife suggested using a food diary of my consuming overlaid with a diary of my migraine attacks.

Turns out they were metabolic reactions to dairy products, especially cream and powdered milk products, with deli meat preservatives contributing. After decades of heavy drugs (narcotics and sumatriptan) and bad advice, all I had to do was stop eating anything that got squeezed from a cow.

Fuck the dairy industry and the govt. collaborators.

Here's hoping your resolution is quicker and easier than mine was.

Every day I think of retirement,

What am I gonna do today, , , ?
:afm199:ride
Seventy three here, and six years in. I've learned to not ask that question.

Seems it's like rubbing a magic lamp. If I ask that during my morning coffee, sure as shit the phone rings and my skills are desperately required to prevent a crisis. Or remediate one.

I've tried the BARF stance of curmudgeon coarseness but only got a laugh and the offer a head rub.

At least you found out you have a specific trigger. Not all migraine sufferers are so lucky.

The thoughts that you people put in my head!
