When you attempt to blackmail a person with more means than 99% of the planet...

Yes, because reasonable people = intimate knowledge of tech. :thumbup

If you don't know, too fuckin bad. :laughing

reasonable people should at least remember the iCloud compromise a few years back where jennifer lawrence et al had a huge stash of noods leaked.

that doesn't require technical knowledge, but it does need you to be smart enough to not make mistakes you've already seen other people make.

actually , literally forwarding the pics seems entirely plausible.

it has happened before...

.... your getting ahead of..

I wager most people have zero clue how any of this shit works, but most likely she did group txt her totes jelly golddigger clique pix of the billion dollar kawk.

Couple/ten grand to one of these totes jelly bishes and wham bam, your mommy bits are in print for all the world to see, along with your sugar daddy's meat missile.

At this point it looks like she may have screwed the pooch herself. But I still disagree that people trusting tech that is sold to them as secure, are to be blamed when that security is circumnavigated.

Well if she forwarded the pics, that's even dumber

I'd rather be jealous and money-grubbing than dumb :laughing

Hopefully Bezos will push this as far as it possibly can go.

Reasonable people would never assume anything being stored on the cloud is secure.

Still illegal to hack someones account. Reasonable people are well aware motorcycles get stolen, should we stop prosecuting if the bike wasn't in a locked garage and chained to the ground?

The other thing with cloud storage is that if something needs to be stored online, it's not unreasonable to assume Apple can manage better security than whatever I could come up with trying to run my own server.

Owning a motorcycle provides a sizable benefit (transportation, enjoyment, lifestyle, etc.). Therefore it's worth the risk of theft.

The ability to store photos and/or texts on the cloud, instead of downloading them periodically if you're running out of space, just doesn't provide you the same benefit/risk ratio. I mean seriously, it isn't difficult to download shit you want to save. If your text msgs contain so many pics that you're running out of space (doubtful), then download some of your other stuff (camera pics & videos, music, etc) to make room.

Motorcycles are not stolen online so you're stretching it a bit there with your comparison.

If you trust your online data storage host's security then you might have your head buried in the sand. Not like mass hackings of personal data isn't a regular occurance on the evening news.

Not saying I trust it 100%, just that I trust it more than trying to run my own cloud server.

I would rather get a moto stolen than my online data, so I am not sure being "online" makes it less of an issue. Steal my bike and insurance gets me a new one and I carry on with life, steal all my data and you could potentially fuck with me for years depending what you find.

My job would be a decent bit harder if I had to store everything locally, though still possible. My girlfriends job would be really tough without online storage, so switching to all offline storage would not be trivial. Both of us create work documents that would be a whole lot more valuable than a few personal pictures if used maliciously.

It's not like cloud storage is just used for selfies and dick pics.....

Motorcycles have nothing to do with the topic.

Yes stolen online data could haunt you for years so extra caution is required and blindly trusting that it's going to be safe is nieve, that's the point people are making here. Since you seem to get that I'm not so sure what your argument is.

In his case, that would be purchasing AMI and then dismantling it. :laughing

i knew a guy who did something similar. one of his employees screwed him, so he fired the dude. dude went to work for another company. guy bought that company just so he could fire the dude from that one too.

That's the level of pettiness and power that I aspire to.
