But I doubt it’s worth your time trying to find a Craftsman vendor. I’d simply buy a new socket and be done with it.

They bought it, closed some stores down, opened some stores up, and then closed them all down again.

We were sad when they closed the one by us. Then we were giddy when they opened a new one much closer. Then they closed that, and we were sad again.

Orchard Supply Hardware- where? The chain closed after selling to Lowes about ten years ago. A new knock off brand has done a great job getting leases into prior OSH locations, and new ones. Based back east, I don't recall their name.

In any case, I doubt they warrant Craftsman and by the time you drive all over- just go get a Rigid brand at HDepot.

I bought a torque wrench at Harbor Freight and the clerk said it has a lifetime warranty. A clicker style. Clicker torque wrenches were one of the things the Craftsman warranty EXCLUDED because they're so easy to break.

the one in palo alto got taken over by an ACE franchise. also remember lowes closed a bunch of lowes stores at the same time they shut OSH down. they were literally competing with themselves having so many redundant stores

Schooly! I broke the pawls in a 3/8 socket wrench trying to bust loose old rusty lugnuts on my boat trailer with a 6 foot pipe extension.

I've been able to exchange broken craftsman items at Lowes as well.
Just walk in with the broken item, show it to customer service, get the replacement, go show customer service and walk out.

I've also tried their Kobalt line (same type of warranty) and found they worked quite adequately.

I've been using a lot of Tekton tools lately. I like their warranty, which is if something breaks, you sent them a picture of the broken item and they ship a replacement to you either that day or the next depending on how early in the day you get it to them.
