There was a guy at work that was living with a bad clot as a result of weight loss surgery. It looked like his calf diameter went straight down into his shoe. He couldn't even really tie it. It had been that way for years, but when you first saw it, you wanted to call 911.

The wifey has been dealing with it since the kid was born. There's a minimally invasive procedure where they go in and suck it out, but kaiser has been too stingy to allow it so far. The meds work well, but it's a struggle if you're on your feet all day.
