2025 Investment Thread

You closed out the last ones and opened some new?
I have opened and closed positions for July strike at various times. I take gains but had I let them run they would be up significantly. Nobody went broke taking profits, however.

Dear Elon Musk,

Remote work is now canceled.

Please return to the Tesla office on March 12th or you will be terminated.

Love,

TSLA shareholders
I just drove by the Tesla Stealership in Gilroy. I would guess there are at least 30 Cybertrucks that I could see from 101 on the lot.

Its been steadily climbing. the Seaside location has 5 on their lot.

I can't imagine how soul destroying it must have been to work on the Cybertracker at Tesla, especially in the styling dept.

Just curious about the details on your positions, and yeah it's reeeaaally easy to lose chasing those peak gains. I'd guess any longtime trader is pretty emotionless to that lure/pitfall.

July TSLA put, 280 strike, (was about ATM when I opened them). Opened 2/25. Operating Thesis was that TSLA would fall to 220 or lower by the July. Probably much more looking at how deliveries are.

The Cybertruck concept originated from a collaboration between von Holzhausen, the lead designer at Tesla and Elon Musk, with Musk providing significant input.

I happen to like it, but I will admit that it's a very polarizing design. It's not boring.

While the sides look flat, they are subtly curved, which is a design element

Like all the Teslas, the interior is minimalistic, which is also to my taste.

While I like the Cybertruck, I'm not too fond of Musk, and that is why I sold all of my TSLA in the last couple of months. TSLA was my only fun stock that I owned. Everything else is utilitarian mutual funds, ect.

Thought you'd like this one...

I assume we're not expecting to hear good things in early April...good things for them anyway.

Good thing I have 5 of them. Still up around 10k as of close. I put a safety order in so the position will close out if it gets too close to me actually losing money. I dont watch my stocks like a hawk (hell I dont roll out of bed until 10:30-11 if I can help it!)

It's really (IMO) all about the volatility. Volatility is like the wind in your sails, it helps you or hurts you depending on what direction you want to go. Looking at the VIX, you can see that the volatility began to dip earlier this week after a good run up. When volatility declines, derivative value declines even if the stock stays flat.

I wouldn't want to be a pedestrian or cyclist hit by a Cybertruck. Thing has very dangerous sharp edges and corners. Even just tripping and falling against one could easily draw blood.
Pedestrian safety concerns are why they can't pass Type-testing and are illegal to drive in many European countries.

Doubt that survey was taken in the eastern part where AfD is popular
Sadly its the relative poverty in the former East Germany that fueling the rise of the AfD (with a huge assist from Putin, Musk and Theil). So AfD members likely couldn't afford one anyway - which is so ironic.
