Long shot....
I'm in Mass and I'm really wanting to head up to Nova Scotia or Cape Breton early September.
I only have 8 days max for the trip.
Some people tell me to just ignore NS and head up to Cape Breton to ride the Cabot Trail, some tell me to stick to NS and make sure I spend enough time exploring Halifax.
I'm torn and unsure which one to take.
Has anyone here done the trip? Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Cape Breton is good, but it isn't as epic as people make it sound. Honestly, the three coolest parts of my Maritimes trip a few years ago were Port Royal and Louisbourg. St John was cool and St Pierre Et Miquelon was a nice side trip- It's funny to say we crossed the Canada/France border, but really, there isn't much in St Pierre to see.

Early September will probably be hot and humid- at least it was for us.

If I only had 8 days I'd either devote a chunk of it to exploring Halifax or skip it entirely (probably my preference, honestly).

No help here but I expect pics. :x

:teeth

I just started planning a 2 week ride in ‘26.

Have fun :ride

Thank you. The South West side of Nova Scotia is a bit closer (taking the ferry from Bar Harbor). If I do that side, I'll go to Halifax via Lunenburg.

My ride took a month. Of course, we started and returned to SoCal, so you have quite a bit less mileage to cover.

This was at the top of the Manic-5 dam, after about 1,500km of dirt roads from the ferry from Newfoundland.

Meat Cove (Revzilla just sent out an email with a story about getting out on the road, and it featured this same view):

Cape Spear, the easternmost point of North America. Cape Spear is closer to Paris, France than it is to Omaha, Nebraska. Wrap your brain around that.

There was this event going on when we passed by- look at all those Subarus!
