I did the entire coast and now I am planning a couple week jaunt for next year covering stuff not on the coast.
Figure asking is better than heavy research time since you all are the shit!

I am good with smaller roads to if I can connect the dots.

Thanks in advance. :Port

Having JUST got back from Washington, I can vouch for these: Hurricane Ridge, Hwy 20, Hwy 503-》FS-90-》Wind River Rd.. Also Chinook Pass and check out the roads going up to Mt. St. Helens. Lots of good roads east of Oroville, WA too, according to the Butler Map.

Thank you.

It was your statement about 20 that got me thinking Strat. :teeth

Somewhere on 97 there is a shoe tree. That's always good for a moto photo. ;)

It is mid-July but at present, Crater Lake road access is limited. And, even when it opens, can't ride around the lake. Long term repair.

Thanks … must be a tight little fucker for 3:44 over 64 miles. I will check out that website too. :thumbup

Followed up (if heading north) with McKenzie pass on the way to Sisters. Been trying to get back on these roads for a few years, but fires and riding mates running on empty have gotten in the way.

Further northeast: Shaniko-Fossil Hwy, 19 up to Condon, 206 from Condon to Heppner. Lots of great pavement, sight lines and little traffic between Condon and John Day and if you stay off of 26, almost no enforcement.

WA 129 south of Lewiston on the way to Enterprise with a detour through Joseph in order to get to NF 39 to Hells Canyon with a stop at the Hells Canyon overlook before dropping in to the canyon.

Hwy 66 east out of Ashland, turn left at Green Springs heading north past Hyatt Lake. Keep going north to Dead Indian Memorial with a left back down to Ashland or, just stay on 66 to get to Klammoth Falls.

Trail-Tiller hwy to avoid much of hwy 5 between Medford and Roseville.

South of Coos Bay, 42 past Myrtle Point with a right onto 542 through Powers to get to NF 33 (Rogue River Scenic Route) through Agness and 595 back to the Cost at Gold Beach to GTF away from the OSP and law abiding locals on the Oregon coast (Includes 8 miles of good quality dirt road).

Just to name a few.

Lived in Seattle for 11 years and I am hard pressed to get excited about any roads west of the eastern plain (Cascades west to the Pacific) other than hwy 20 (Cascade Mtn Hwy) to Winthrop, hwy 2 over Stevens Pass to Wenatchee, or around Mt Rainer. I used to love FR 25 south out of Randle up to Windy Ridge looking over Mt St Helens with a continuation south through Cougar and down to Hwy 5 for the run back north, but lately the roads seem to be in pretty bad shape. Once East of of the Cascade, I kind of need to be near the Columbia River to get enough elevation changes or much further east near the Snake in order to find interesting roads

I am thinking of riding North to South at this point. Not a camping guy so getting to motels and such may dictate some things. I have not done the AirBNB thing so that may play into it.

Thanks for the info Flip.

The road in Hells Canyon has a wonderful set of twisties. Parts of it are in Oregon, but just about all of the good stuff are on the Idaho side of the river.

The cool thing about Idaho is you can ride along a river for HOURS! And if you make it there, check out Galena Pass (Hwy 75) between Stanley and Ketchum. And if you're going that far, might as well ride Lolo Pass too!

Enterprise OR to Clarkston WA / Lewiston on the Rattlesnake Grade can be linked up with the Fossil route.
South on 19 runs through the John Day Fossil Beds Monument.
7 Goes up to Sumpter OR where there's a gold dredge still floating on display.
North of there is Granite, Cabel City and NFD-73 through the Little Alps that gets back to North Powder and I-84.

Still recommend WA 101 along the Hood Canal over 101 on the coast.
112 west from PA to the tippy NW end of the so called states is an out and back to 113 then east on 101 to Quincy and south.

112 right along the shoreline. Those rocks in the corner are high tide.

Eastern WA is mostly flat straight and hot going anywhere other than a few tiny areas.
Used to be a big flat lake of lava. Coulee Dam, Ship Rock and Dry Falls are worth looking at once.
I think NF-25 on the east side of St. Helens is still closed as a through route.

Dry Falls back when I got the Kbrick.

The road to Johnston Observatory at St. Helens is also closed near the top for slide repairs.

Glad I found this thread. Heading out on Aug 25 for 10 days. Thinking of visiting the Olympic Peninsula as I've never been there.

Visit Pillar Point and Lake Pleasant if you are wandering off the main road. Both are really sweet spots.
Info on those in my coastal ride report.

I know you didn’t ask, but BC99. If you are going that far, take the ride to Lilloett up the Canadian coast.

Makenzie pass!(y)

Salt Creek State Park has drive through gun emplacements like the Marin headlands that make you walk.
