Bless their little hearts.

Dropping $50k blindly it seems.

Can’t be done until at least a few years after birth. And even then there are limitations to what can be determined. It’s a scam.

Per the article embryos are created then the "best" one is picked for IVF.
The question then becomes what to do with the other embryos. I assume they get discarded. This can be a thorny issue for some.

Wow!!!! I thought that these super smart people would not be so dumb. It almost sounds like Eugenics. I'm glad that their are companies to fleece them of their money. They deserve it. We have too may f'n people on this planet already, but these people are encouraging breeding- but only for the 'right people'.
is there something wrong with that? maybe not everyone is qualified to reproduce

Definitely some people shouldn’t reproduce. However, making laws and regulations about who can reproduce is leaping out onto an incredibly slippery slope.

Oh they certainly can see alot in embryo genetics, don’t get me started on Polygenic scores! Folks been choosing embryos for awhile, only now they have more defined metrics to choose from. Weird new world.

Genetics is much more complicated. They may have found genes that indicate greater intelligence, but do they know the genes well enough to know everything else they are getting?

For $50,000 they’ll tell you.

You have more confidence in them than I do. I did a stint in biotech/genomics and know the complexity of our genes.

A certain movement made it taboo to even discuss it, thats the issue lol
That is on HELL of a euphemism. :thumbdown It's also not the issue. People thinking other people don't or shouldn't reproduce is the issue.

What they may end up with are pure sociopaths, which might not bother them aside from the fact that a pure sociopath might decide that it's time for their parents to pass their wealth on...

Regarding discarding unused embryos brings up the old question - at what point does life begin?
If life begins at the point of conception then discarding an embryo could be considered murder by some, although it's frozen so there's no heart beat, so is it really alive, but then again when it's implanted it forms a live baby...I'm confused.

It's murky to say the least.

A blastocyst is definitely not a human, and there's no guarantee it'll turn into a viable pregnancy or even live birth. So, no. Life does not begin at conception. The whole LifE beGiNs aT cOnCEpTion is some dumb shit certain people came up with to control women.
