What Are You Thinking Of Right Now?

I think I would like to be off to see the wizard....

The 1970s Chevrolet van with most of the engine behind the front axle were super fun to drive. The cargo ones that were just a shell were light and the weight distribution made it fun for jumps and sideways travel

I was just thinking of the song lol

I put her out in a town that was so small
You could throw a rock from end to end
A dirt road main street, she walked off in bare feet
It's a shame I won't be passin' through again
'Cause like a picture she was laying there
Moonlight dancing off her hair
She woke up and took me by the hand
We made love in my Chevy Van
And that's all right with me

Working in the service dept of a Honda dealership, young guy (customer) is talking to a co-worker and says "I've blown two tranny's in my civic, but that was when I lived in the city." Without missing a beat co-worker says "You should buy a van." Kid looks at him puzzled... I spit my coffee. :laughing

I am thinking how cruel life is to some, and how blessed I feel to not be one of them.

I just got news of a distant family member I was close to you when I was young whose family has suffered numerous horrible twists of fate spanning the last 40 years, and another unimaginable blow has been dealt to them.

Fuck fuck fuck

I think we all sympathize with the Russian people, they are suffering under a cruel regime.

My grand parents had the intelligence to leave Russia and come to America in 1919. As the revolution spread, they spread with it until there was no place left to go. The last place they lived was in Archangel. My grandmother left first with my father’s older brother. My grandfather left Russia at the last moment on an American boat that was heading for New York. They became citizens and my father was born in Sacramento.

my mothers parents probable came from the Pale, maybe Polish maybe Russian. Probably in the early 20th century.

It turns out, the water used for brewing coffee on most airlines is, to put it politely, "unbelievably gross." A study that examined water quality on 21 different air carriers revealed some pretty disturbing findings, often showing water that's far from potable standards. So, while we always say "life's too short to drink bad coffee," it might be even shorter if you're drinking *that* coffee.

That, and this is page 3000

the area between Poland and Russia where Jews were allowed to live.

Interesting. I’d never heard of the Pale before.

My only experience with Jews was my first marriage. My 1st wife and her family are Jewish. And before we got married, I took some classes at their temple on Jewish history and customs. She and I married under an chuppah at their temple. Unfortunately she was unfaithful and betrayed me.

As it turned out, I may have Jewish blood in my veins through my father’s side of the family. I found out that my grandmother converted to Catholicism in order to marry my grandfather. This happened in Russia. The clue that I have is that my grandmother’s last names, on both sides of her family, were considered to be Jewish surnames. But, we will likely never know for sure.
