The bottom of the box is curved I assume from the weight of the mangos when loaded and stacked. She initially was trying to get comfortable in there while the mangos were still in the box. We had to eat them fast and remove the rest so she could fit comfortably without the lumps.

If we can offer an injured cat a safe haven for the night, it has been a good day. It has been a good day, Sad Sack has been in a scrap or two and is suffering. Pics tomorrow of the poor lad. His balls need to be snipped. :mad:
 
I have a feeder the cats can access at any time. No problems with weight but they are also indoor/outdoor kitties who get a lot of exercise.

Our big boy cats are indoor/outdoor cats, running close to the 15lb mark that cats should not cross due to all the extra added health issues that come with it. Diabetes being the big one. Also, when they are indoors they are constantly racing around the house playing with Sundae. They probably get more exercise when indoors! :laughing If they had access to a feeder that was available at all times it would be empty at all times. Mercer, who is the missing triplet of Jammer's boys, is very food focused. He has stolen bread out of the toaster while it was toasting, has stolen and eaten hamburger buns along with one whole partially frozen hamburger patty, stolen donuts, ate a whole ramekin of homemade tartar sauce, licked the pan clean of oatmeal with cinnamon and honey in it, has learned how to open the cupboard where the green waste garbage can lives, and has knocked cereal boxes off the top of the refrigerator. When we feed all the cats he inhales his food then pushes Apollo out of the in order to eat the rest of his food, then moves on to Mae's food. We stop him so he can't do it but it is a real struggle. He also gets in the dishwasher and licks all the food-flavored water and stuff that drips onto the bottom and inside the door. It's like he's starving all the time, but he's getting enough calories, and the vet said he looks great and to keep doing what we're doing. Well, what we're doing is locking down the kitchen and keeping stuff in the stove, fridge, microwave, and upper cabinets that he cannot reach. We basically have to clean the kitchen before we can sit down to eat our meals. Our kitchen has never been as neat and tidy as it is now, so I guess that's good? :laughing

OMG. That sounds like my friend's cat, Vic, who clawed my pizza box when I cat sat him demanding a slice. Anything you eat, he wants it. Sounds like Mercer is part piglet.

My cats eat until full and are then totally uninterested in the food bowl until their tummies rumble. I think Mushu is about 12 lbs and Mama is about 10 lbs on a good day.

Jenko is starting to go down that route. He stole a chicken strip off a hot cookie sheet the other night, one brain cell away from figuring out the cabinet doors, and has an obsession with food residue on anything. They get wet twice a day, have dry always available, and his weight is nicely managed at 12.5 lbs but he will sit by his wet bowl and meow like he's starving to anyone who looks sideways at him :laughing

Also, Mercer swiped 2 slices of avocado off the counter last night while Eric was standing at the stove. Very glad he didn’t get sick, as avocados are toxic to cats!
