Thank you! The big issue was moving the Pettibone (Rex) the Excavatot, tractor and dump truck up to our neighbor’s clearing.

We ran all the fire hoses and have the big generator set up to run the well pump. That way we keep the water tanks replenished.
We uncovered the pool for access if they need it.
Tonight is all about the 5 night flight helicopters overhead.

With the equipment moved we can focus on weed waving.

Yesterday I saw a mature jumping spider on one of my house plants. I get such a kick out of them. I held out my hand he he jumped on me for an about 10 seconds before hopping off to go hunt in my Ficus.

i love spiders, but especially jumpers. they are so smart. couple of months ago there was a large one on our ceiling. i went and got a ladder and my spider catcher (clear plastic cube with lid that i use for catch and release). climbed the ladder and held up the box - was about a foot short of being able to trap it. well shit, what now? a couple of seconds later it jumped off the ceiling into the box - almost like - ‘yay, my ride is here’. cooperative little cutie.

so sorry to hear of the challenge. hope cal fire gets the upper hand soon.

wrt animals - when we had our closest recent fire (mosquito), during one of the agency debriefs, many people expressed concern about the animals. we were told not to worry, the animals know what to do. then we were further advised to watch for them on the move away from the fire. especially the big predators (we may be seeing a lot more of them than normal coming through). that proved correct, and lasted for a few months after the fire was out.
 
I know up here for tomorrow afternoon they have strong winds forecast coming from the southwest.

I consider that to be genital mutilation. And likely a big part of their problems. At the very least, surgery should be postponed until the age of 21. Or 25 when they are sexually mature and are better able to make an informed decision.

At their age it might be that they present and identify as young women, not that any surgery or anything has happened. I have a friend with a transgender kid who is irate that they were not allowed hormonal transition earlier before they became more masculine.

It's not an easy thing to deal with. Just sharing my friend's real world experience with a transgender child. We never know what the future holds and we try to make what we believe are choices in the best interest of our children and it can often bite us in the ass.
 
Surgery and things like hormone therapy should NEVER be used on children. Not ever. No, no, no. It’s totally fucked up. It’s way beyond fucked up.
 
Once you turn 60, you should lose your drivers license. Probably also should get forced to retire. Obviously you will need someone to take care of you and make all your decisions, cook your meals and buy your clothes. Once you hit a certain age, you can't take care of yourself so someone else needs to do it for you.
 
If someone wants to mutilate their genitals after they turn 21, then the results are on them. But to have parents and doctors doing these things on children is a horrible abomination.

If someone wants to drive a corvette after they turn 60, then when they crash its on them. But to have DMV letting these people drive with their lower cognitive ability and slower reflexes is an abomination
