The issue is that after 1 to 2 seconds the sound from the side speakers greatly diminishes, and the dash speaker is very prominent. Hard resetting the system doesn't help. I had installed an aftermarket RS Audio speaker, which made the issue very noticeable. Yesterday I re-installed the original speaker, and the issue is the same, although not as apparent. The dealer has repeatedly said it sounds fine. At the 20k service in a couple of weeks I am going to have a tech sit in the car with me and point out the cutout. I think I just need to find a dealer that is interested and will take care of the problem instead of kicking the can. There are many issues with this model and software version that have been discussed on VW Vortex. The car is a 2025 Golf R, and people have had the infotainment module replaced, which people refer to as the 5F module. Some have had the amplifier replaced, and some have had both replaced.

It's most likely a problem with the amplifier. In fact, some of the issues in newer VAG audio systems are software related (random device disconnects, audio cutting out, display cutting out, etc). An update to the amplifier might resolve the issue... Or brick it entirely :laughing

Does this happen with all inputs, even a thumb drive or FM radio vs wireless audio?
 
Does it happen while driving on the road?

Or while sitting with the car on or off engine on or off in a parking lot?
