600 or Liter bike?

He has a 427. He needs a Busa.:thumbup

He's a torqu-aholic. Next.

well, being a gearhead you know the importance of having the right tool for the job.

As many have said the advantages of a liter vs 600 for general street riding, commute and sport riding.

what it comes down to is what kind of riding will you mostly do?

Based on prevous bikes, what is rev-range and where do you like your torque?

I would love some more tq down low. The GSXR 600 always seemed to lug down off the line, unless i really stepped into the throttle right away (very rare).

ahh then my apologies Jeff :)

didnt mean to rub ya the wrong way or send you packing with a ill feeling from my direction. I tend to see a lot of people on here that got into riding for the wrong reasons. Bad form on my part for placing you in the category of the same with little to judge you with.

I respect the fact you found the art and sport of motorcycling on your own and that its a passion you believe deeply in. :thumbup Welcome to the club buddy.

anyway let us know what ya end up with and post pics!!! Gladly ride with ya as soon as mine is fixed :mad :laughing

ride safe buddy :ride

Hey no harm no foul :thumbup

I think my avatar kinda gives that squidy look :rofl . For the record, I am AGATT (even when i dynoed my bike haha). I'm really thinking about a 08 gsxr 600 in white. Probably pick it up in the next 2 months hopefully. :ride

wait...arent the gsxr750 fairings interchangeable with 600/1000 color schemes? I mean even if they arent, how hard could it be to make them fit?...or do ur own paint job. Get the 750 man, that has always been my pragmatic dream bike (before 1098s and D16rr)

It's too bad you don't like Gixxer 750's because of their color schemes, it's probably what you're looking for power-band wise (Between a 600cc and a 1000cc)

Lots of torque, steady as a rock on the freeway, fun as hell in the twisties (though it doesn't seem like that is your cup of tea).

You should give them a try! You can always custom paint them...

some good points....

I loved the canyon run I did. I want to do more. I learned a LOT my first time out and know I only scratched the surface of the learning I can take home from it. Can't wait to go again, even though it scared the hell out of me haha.

vtwin if you want torque. For street riding I'll take a twin over an inline4 anyday, But if I were to do some track days I would want an inline 4. V-twin just makes more sense for a street bike.

Also, keep in mind you can exchange fairings with Gixxer 600's too, they are 100% exactly the same fit, in case you, say... wanted a white Gixxer 750 =P

Speaking of 08' models of course.

Dude 600's are hell of slow, and can't get out of there own way. If I was you I would go for the new VMAX:thumbup

Sooo....... why did you sell an 07 600 only to replace it with another 600... and you even say you like the same kind you had? Just gotta have the latest model every year or what?

Lean EPA-friendly fueling + a 17t front sprocket = crap holeshots. For cheap thrills swap that front sprocket for a 16t. :toothless

For really cheap thrills and lots of shifting, go down 2 in front and up 5 in back. :laughing

How much torque does it require to pass a Honda Civic going 60mph in the #1 lane? Shit, I can do that on my DRZ.

Don't mind him, he's a little defensive that his R1100S gets passed by harleys while he dreams of Ewan and Charlie and boys on SVs.

:laughing

You mean bog off the line, unless you spool up the RPM's, don't you?

Could be just a different terminology, though.

A kawi 650R Ninja (or Versey if they ever get California legal), or Ducati Monster, or SV650 would out do any 600 in the city streets, and the canyons.

A 750 Gixxr with street fighter conversion to the bars would kick ass on all the other choices getting discussed, as the use is being discussed as well.

(and if you can't paint it to your choice of color, you don't want it, enough)

Yeah thats what I meant

The guys telling you to get a liter bike after reading your posts are likely all 25 and under in age. I doubt any 40 year old dude thats been riding for 20 years would tell you to get a liter bike.

Damn - was gonna PM you and get your to buy my Mille R, get you to upgrade to a man's bike but ... hell ... I'm over 40, so I guess I can't. Sorry.

Must do the sensible thing. Must enter mentor mode. Must advise to stick with 600s. Much cheaper anyway.
