Please Write In Jeff Gruetter, AFM #704 aka TrackHo for VP on the AFM Ballot

Kurt said it all best several posts up.

Funny, There wasa QUICK response to Berto, but nothing to what Kurt had to say.

Passion != Correct. Look back in history at some of our biggest human failures... and you'll find a lot of passion.

Professionalism, information and the knowlege of when NOT to respond is more important than passion IMO.

I do not know you well enough to vote for you, but having said that I have read some of your posts on here.

I am pretty sure how people post on here says alot about themselves.

Not that it's a for sure deal how they post equates to what kind of person they are, but it sometimes seem to go hand in hand.

...Not always true but sometimes it tells exactly who they are.

Good luck on the VP thing Jeff... :)

For the record, Budman said it was ok for someone to post your candidacy on your behalf before your suspension was up (which turned out not to be necessary), nothing more. In no way shape or form does Budman, or BARF endorse any candidate for any position on the AFM BOD.

As to the topic,

1)Jeff do you believe you will be able to work productively with the AFM Board of Directors, or do you think your presence will be a polarizing and destructive influence?

2) What are your short term and long term goals with regard to the AFM, and how do you intend to achieve them/measure your progress towards achieving those goals?

3) What are your ideas about getting more people to join the AFM and get people interested in racing that might otherwise be turned off by all the problems in the ruling ranks of the AFM?

1)--Yes, I already have with Shawn, I think Shawn has some really good ideas that he has already implemented..lets see if anyone actually on the board knows what they are

2) Already answered --see my original post

3) Provide a safe as possible race environment--a certain percentage of trackday riders will want to race regardless of the BOD drama--I don't think getting 2,000 racers in a race weekend makes much sense. I havent been privy to the numbers, but Im guessing around 300 to 500 racers would be the most the AFM could sustain long term--again an educated guess, Ill need to see real numbers

3.5) Now the AFM imploding BOD would be a tad different, didnt start it, tried to fix it thru mediation as previously mentioned--now it will be what it will be.

4) I keep missing the incumbent VP's opinions/actions/qualification or how how got the position in the first place.

Does he even race?? Has he ever?? Does he work for ZZ?? I know he does tech and is a nice guy--but what else??

Jeff: Have you ever served in a similar capacity? Are you going to enter the situation as a member willing to compromise and negotiate to make changes, or are you entering the forum as a crusader who is going to force them regardless of the consequences?

Yes Ive worked on board environments many times both professionally and personally.

Frankly, Ernie, I don't see anyone forcing the board to do anything. What I would like to see is
1) A Financial audit of the books for the past 5 years, and the audit results made public--just good business
2) The "grid stuffing investigation" results promised to us at the last board meeting. Promised by 7-6-09 by Shawn
3) The legal nonsense with Alex Florea resolved in a respectful manner without the BORD spending a bunch of racers $$$ in legal fees.
4) A very clear policy regarding "conflict of interest' of board members and board policy-I just don't see the benefit having so many ZZ affiliated board members--it actually hurts Shawn more than it helps him--perception and all that.
5) What you all my proponents say when I agreed and backed Shawn up?? Like I have on his numerous efforts to improve safety...hmmmm
6) Vote how you need to vote..just be prepared to live with the consequences.

Frankly, I have to sacrifice time for my family/racing/other to be on the board..I wish I didn't have to...but I wont sleep very well if I don't try to take an active role in improving things.

Thanks for Asking

3.5 - so you were there offering mediation back in February? or are you refering to your post for the idea that came 5 months too late. It's a hellofa lot easier to look back and see a better path. Very different as you embark on a journey.

4) this is not about him... this is about your qualifications. IF your qualifications are that "I'm as good as the guy doing it now".. then well... we have him :D

"Does he work for ZZ"... DAAAAYYYUUMMMM get off of that. I instruct for them and (if I may say so myself ) would make a hell of a rider rep. But my location makes it too tough for me to make the metings. Oh wait.. and there is that fact that I am a mindless ant who just follows Shawns cent whereever he goes.

Nice mid-set for a "wanna-be" VP.

You're not scoring points with me so far.

..lets see if anyone actually on the board knows what they are

Damn Jeff,

To me it's clear as day, do you really not see it? Your remarks continue to be snide towards the very BORD you claim to be workable with? If a freind of mine spit on my car then asked to hop in for a spin down to dairy queen I'd tell him to go fuck himself. How am I to believe the BORD will be better with your presence? I understand your passion, but...

4) I keep missing the incumbent VP's opinions/actions/qualification or how how got the position in the first place.

This just plain reeks of someone who wants to charge in because "he knows better than yall" and has no problem tearing down all his future coworkers in the process.

You seem to be going for the tri-fecta in your campaign, you have already done misdirection and mudslinging, when will you surface the scandal picture of all the current BORD members, a goat, a empty bottle of tequillia and a eye-patch?

I feel that we'd only be trading one maverick for another....

You answered the first question I posed. Not the second one.

Is that the picture of Berto telling me to "knock that shit off" on Sunday after the races??:rofl:rofl --Odd as he didnt get the submissive reaction he expected, form me or Billy Scott--pretty funny wathcing Billy go Nuclear on his ass--the funniest part was Budman was there for the whole thing

Or is that him editing posts that hes not entitled to via BARF TOS--I forget--either way hes 6 inches shorter than me so hopefully Toms standing on a box.
Heres what happened after everyone chilled out, looks like a regular afm love fest--who looks the calmest here??

Berto dont you hate if when folks have the audacity to record things as they really were--Wheres the BORD meeting tapes again?? Does deepthroat still have them?? Is it that hard to use a voice recorder??

Jeff you are just digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole. You may think you're entertaining but the rest of us think you're just.....well, you figure it out. You and I get along fine, about actual racing and bikes and stuff, but when it comes to all of this, I don't agree with your methods. Good intentions I'm sure, but all the name calling and smart ass remarks, they hurt what you're trying to do. And they pretty much shut down any chance you have of becoming a BORG member.

I was there when Billy came over to Berto afterwards apologizing for his behavior. Billy made a mistake and manned up about it, and said sorry. And I'm not sure how it was "the funniest thing" that Budman was there. Who do you think he supports, Berto or you? Hint: Berto's still a mod here.....

+1 right on Kim...

I wasn't going to say this, but Jeff: Your campaign seems to be based on a short blurb about your goals and then massive character assassination, name calling, and personal attack. It's probably an effective way to impress people with how difficult you can be, but it's not impressing very many people with your ability to deal with the stress of being on the board.

And you have yet to answer my question about whether you intent is to be a board member who goes onto the board willing to compromise and negotiate, or a board member who intent is to clean house and straighten things out, regardless of the consequences.

Isn't that how all presidential campaigns work?
