157 mph street crash and rider is still alive

Wow, the kid lives!

Well, I must say that Noe posting statements like that on the internet is a bad idea. I had a legal situation a few years back that had nothing to do with motorcycles, and while being questioned one of the attorneys pulled up my BARF info and was reading it and asked me questions about it.

As some might have noticed, I have been posting less these days, mostly because I am wanting my life to be just a little more private, but not totally private. :) one needs some fun in life!

That's the point.

This isn't an open letter to Noe Marcos Calazo. I figure he is having narcoleptic-induced dreams about his next liter bike. Until his pain killers runs out.

Mostly the posters on this thread are patting themselves on back that they are smarter than Calazo, or just to spread some venom.

Actually, we're all aware this isn't an open letter to the idiot kid. But these types of discussions are read by a LOT of people who aren't posting. Some of those people, by reading the discussion & opinions being expressed here, are seeing a whole lot of people who don't think this kind of behavior is acceptable risk management. I guarantee you that some of the readers are currently doing the same type of shit as Noe- and as a result of exposure to differing perspectives, might actually modify their behavior... one can hope, anyways.
Oh- one of the cool things about discussion boards is that people actually have discussions. Radical concept...

I'm not one for wishing death... but I have to agree with Dave that this idiot kid Noe probably has NOT learned anything. I mean seriously... there's "high spirited & pushing the envelope"... and then there's "terminally stupid".
Personally, I think the kid falls into the "terminally stupid" category.
But I'm a little more optimistic... I'd like to think that the Universe spared his life for a reason... that there's a purpose. I mean, who knows? Maybe he WILL get some girl pregnant... and maybe that girl will be an awesome Mom, and her child grows up to cure cancer.
Yeah, unlikely, I give you that... but stranger things have happened!
So I'm just going to hope that he actually got the wake-up call, and points his life in a different direction. *crosses fingers*

I would like to agree with you on the universe tending to unfold it self and sparing his life for a reason. But it seems that according to quantum physics, there is only probability of chance. There is a sense of balance among most things according to Socrates and cyclical reasoning. But in the end, how can we know if this "He is meant for a bigger purpose" can really be true? I think he is a lucky kid who more than likely will learn from his mistake. Human beings tend to only understand the importance of their lifes once death is imminent. Although, as you stated, he could just be retarded, but, if that is the case why would he of been allowed to own a license to begin with? Seems like we dont know enough or would rather brag about our careers in motorcycling than come to a logical conclusion as to what should be done with this youth.

And im just spit balling here.

I don't think he's retarded, I just think he's dumb as a post. Not as in "Oooh... wow... Special Needs... maybe we should look into competing in the Special Olympics", but as in "good god, ya dumbass, what the hell were you thinking???"
And I don't think anyone is necessarily "bragging about [their] careers in motorcycling"... I think some people are trying to draw on their OWN experiences to TRY to understand what the hell the dipshit was thinking. I also think this type of discourse provides glimpses into others' experiences, and let's face it, BARF has it's share of young men like Noe both lurking AND posting on this forum. Hopefully, some of them will learn something... like how to NOT be a douchecanoe loser on a bike (and increasing their odds of living to be Old).

I do draw onto my own experiences at that age and KNEW sure as shit at that if I had a sport bike back then, that I'd do something stupid and/or fatal- we didn't have the intrawebz back then and Redwood/Pinehurst was a 55MPH zone. :cool

Since I happen to think you've turned out pretty spiffy, then maybe there's a chance that young Noe may well end up being more than someone breathing air better left to the rest of us.

Also, why in the HELL did they lower the speed limit on Redwood??? 55mph is a totally reasonable speed for me to do in my TRUCK, for pity's sake! Of course, the county is probably making a decent amount of money off the speeding tickets out there...

A bump with updates.

The guy lived. I can't find any info if there where charges filed etc. Also note the original news web sites had his last name mis-spelled as "Calazo".

This Lexus website has his old facebook info: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...ing-157-mph-revisited-with-facebook-blog.html

Before what appears to be him changing his facebook name from Noe Colazo to Noe Chavez: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000045815018&sk=wall

There is a crime website that has some info that fits his description and what appears to be a mug shot that looks very similar to him. http://azjails.info/?RID=111119122

The crashed bike pic looks very similar to his crashed bike as seen on the original news reports and is from his old facebook page.

The third showing him holding a camera is from his old facebook page.

Glad he didn't hurt anybody else. Other than that, I have no sympathy for him.

You know, I'm a guy and I was 19 once, and at no time in my life was I ever this dumb. Once when I was 16 a guy moving a motorcycle asked me if I wanted to ride it and the first words out of my mouth were "Hell no, I have no idea how". I think at this point I believe 19 year olds are dumb and immature simply because everyone says it whenever these situations arise :)

Wow, his facebook says he's "proud of himself" and the ever shocking "Thank the lord" bullshit. Yes, god didn't intervene in the crash, but in the moment you were flying through the air, he decided to save your life.

i recall looking over a certain someone's shoulder and seeing (ironically enough) 157 on the speedo. recall pounding on his shoulder at the time. and much arguement afterward regarding 'do i have any say in the brush with death on a public road deal'. so, um... STFU shithead. :twofinger

stupid kids like that make my demographic look bad.
we're the 1% of riders. this story doesn't help :(
