And I don't have this problem since I don't have kids, but its a problem still since I live at home with my parents. Everything is in duffel bags (yes plural) in my closet acting like regular luggage

I view this thread as something to learn from. I may not have anything worthwhile to post, or any witty post that's unrelated to the actual thread. But I absorb all of it to maybe, someday, expand my horizons when the situation presents itself.

There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to sexuality in the masses. This thread proves it. An open mind has infinite paths to follow

I for one am grateful for the openness of the people posting their experiences and views. It takes great self-confidence to do so.

While I may not ever get into everything posted, I'll have a better understanding and better view of the subject.

Amen to this one! Open Mindedness is key to many many great revelations in one's life. I'm learning more and more to be open minded, and more so open hearted. That's exactly why I'm in here, myself. There was really something impressive about it, when I went to BaGG and other such places and found that everyone was totally mellow and friendly. Being around mature adults who are actually comfortable being themselves and accepting of one another is quite something.

If you think this thread is interesting, joining up on fetlife is totally worth it. There's some very informative resources and discussions around there. What's really struck me is that the people involved in the scene have spent a LOT of time actually thinking, very seriously, in detailed and honest ways about topics that most of society won't go anywhere near. There's tons of information that I think everyone could really use.

You can establish relationships between separate accounts (you have to be friends with them), but FetLife isn't really built for more than one person per account (like AFF, et cetera).

As others have posted, we found the SF BDSM scene to be very open and welcoming. Mrs. and I had always had an open relationship in theory, but time and opportunities eluded us for the first 15 years. When we found ourselves free of familial and professional obligations, we jumped in feet-first.

We didn't know much about anything, other than what we'd read on the net, so we decided to hit the most infamous sexclub, Power Exchange, and see what really went on. On our very first visit we met a well-spoken, well-behaved single guy. He was very patient and open with us as newbies, and spent as much time talking and explaining as he did playing. Later that evening we got to watch a bondage-and-zipper scene in PE's dungeon; a couple had flown up from SoCal specifically to meet with the Dom. The three of them were very gracious and informative. When we left, one of the bouncers gave us a card for Club 960 (a swinger's club affiliated with PE).

We hit 960 next, and once again found tons of open folks with all kinds of interests. From them we learned about Folsom, The Citadel, Debaucherama, and all manner of other gatherings. On a parallel track, Ms. took us to Bondage-A-Go-Go (Bagg), and once again we met nothing but happy, open people.

Over the years, we've managed to indulge many of our interests, to hone our own communication skills, and to meet countless like-minded folks and to make new friends and relationships.

The scene is so different than what is depicted in the media! While I'm sure there are nasty people out there, there's certainly no more than what one would encounter in vanilla life (actually, I suspect far fewer).
